There are two ways to set-up your users with OpsAnalitica: store and individual accounts. Here are a couple of facts about the User Account Email Address as well as the pros and cons of each:

  1. Email addresses are required only so people can reset their passwords.

  2. Most clients have a combination of personal email addresses and corporate email addresses.

Ex: Corporate staff use their work addresses and restaurant employees below GM level use their personal gmail address.

  3. All users can control their notification settings under My Account settings.

Store Accounts:

Pros:

  • Good for franchise orgs where you don't provide email addresses for the employees.

  • Not affected from store employee turnover.

  • One easy email address to remember

Cons:

  • Less accountability, you don't know who at the store did something.

  • Less secure, if an employee is fired you can't turn off their account all you can do is change the password.

  • Login is an entity in the system and you can report off of it.

  • Most people who use store accounts put a required question at the top of each checklist ensuring that the person completing puts their name in.

Personal Accounts:

Pros:

  • Email accounts are free so you can get someone a personal email very easily.

  • More accountability because you can hold people directly accountable to their answers.

  • Easier to report off of a person.

Cons:

  • More platform maintenance, having to manage more user accounts.

There is no right email to use, and most people use a hybrid approach using store accounts and personal email addresses with no problems. Generic email addresses make a lot of sense for positions with a lot of turnover and then supplementing that with manager's corporate email addresses.
