Occasionally you might get this error when creating a new email address. The dreaded Username is already taken.
The system has controls on it where it will not let you have duplicate email addresses anywhere in the platform.
If this happens, the first thing you want to do is find out where that email address is.
Open a new tab on your browser and navigate to the Admin - Users.
Run a quick search on that email address in your current org's Users.
If you find it there, you can open it real quick, check the accounts configuration and problem solved.
If you don't find it there and you are in a multi-organization environment, navigate to Change Organizations.
Enter the email address in the Change Organizations Search Bar and hit enter.
If the email address exists in an Organization that you can switch to, the organization with the email address will appear. Go to step 8
If you enter the email address and an org doesn't show up, flip the Active drop down to InActive and see if it appears there.
If nothing appears then that email address exists somewhere else in the OpsAnalitica platform that you don't have access to and you should reach out to the end user or open a support chat.
Click on that organization and click Change.
To to Users - Search the Email Address and select it. You can edit from here.
If the email address is correct you are done.
If it is in the incorrect organization you will need to invalidate it.
Invalidating it means changing it so you won't have a duplicate. You can just put a 1 at the end of the email address. and save the account.
You can also log the person out and make their account inactive before saving if you want to.
