So, you’ve just installed a solar system – congratulations!

In most cases, there’s a 2–4 week delay between solar system installation and usage visibility in the app and My Account online.

This is due to the requirements of:

  1. Paperwork being submitted by the solar system installer. This usually takes 1-2 business days.

  2. Our investigations about your meter – whether it needs to be exchanged for a new one, or simply reconfigured in order to record your feed-in data – i.e. the amount of solar energy you’re feeding back to the grid. Your meter must be set up to record this so that we can calculate your feed-in tariff. This typically takes just 1 business day.

  3. Meter exchange – if this is required, we’ll contact you to arrange for someone to come out to do this. Usually, this will take about 15 business days to occur from the date we receive your paperwork, with some exceptions.

  4. Meter reconfiguring – usually done in just 2 business days, but there are occasions where it can take longer.

  5. Meter activation – this is done in conjunction with your distributor and will usually take 5 business days. At this point, you will need to make sure your solar inverter is switched on, otherwise no data can be recorded.

  6. First feed of data – from the date of meter activation to your data showing up the first time it will usually take up to 5 business days. Once it’s going though, you should continue to see your usage data updated on a daily basis. If you have any concerns about a delay in your solar data, please get in touch.
