To find your energy distributor, you can use our distributor look-up tool.

What’s an energy distributor?

Your energy distributor is the company that owns and operates the poles, wires and gas pipes that transport energy from where it’s generated to your home or business. Unlike your energy retailer, (e.g. Origin!), you don’t choose your energy distributor – your distributor is determined by geography (i.e., where you live) and the infrastructure in your area.

Your distributor looks after any power outages and may also be responsible for maintaining your energy meter and in some cases, setting meter fees. So, if your lights go out or there’s an emergency, like a gas leak, they’re usually the best people to call.

On our distributor look-up tool page you enter your postcode, let us know what energy types you have - electricity, natural gas, solar - and we’ll tell you who your distributor is.
