Here's what determines how often you're billed
The state you live in, your energy type and your meter type determine how often you're billed.
State | Energy type | Meter type | Bill cycle |
All states | Embedded electricity | Smart meters (a digital meter that sends usage regularly – depending on your meter and location, this could be every 5, 15 or 30 minutes) | Monthly |
All states | Embedded electricity | Standard meter (a meter that is read or estimated for billing) | Every two months |
All states except Victoria | Embedded hot water | Remote or standard | Quarterly |
Victoria | Embedded hot water | Remote or standard | Every two months |
