How much will my project cost?

Updated this week

Osta provides fixed-price quotes before any work begins, eliminating the uncertainty that makes hiring contractors stressful. The price we quote is the price you pay unless you approve a scope change—no surprise charges, no inflated material costs, no after-the-fact adjustments.

Pricing Process:

Initial Assessment: Most customers begin with either a free virtual assessment (for straightforward installations where photos and descriptions provide sufficient information) or an on-site diagnostic visit (for troubleshooting, complex systems, or situations requiring professional inspection before accurate pricing).

Diagnostic visits cost $195 for electrical work and $250 for plumbing or HVAC services. This fee covers the professional inspection, diagnosis, and detailed quote preparation. If you proceed with the recommended work, the diagnostic fee is fully credited toward your project total.

Quote Development: Your quote includes itemized breakdowns of:

  • Labor costs calculated by project complexity and time requirements

  • Materials costs for all components, fixtures, and supplies (when Osta provides materials)

  • Permit fees charged by local building departments (when permits are required)

  • Inspection coordination and final approval processes

  • One-year labor warranty covering all workmanship

Cost Variables: Factors affecting final pricing include:

  • Accessibility: Hard-to-reach locations, confined spaces, or areas requiring significant prep work increase labor time

  • Code Requirements: Older homes may require additional upgrades to meet current code standards when performing permitted work

  • Material Selection: Premium fixtures, smart home integration components, or high-efficiency equipment increase material costs

  • Permit Jurisdiction: Different cities and counties charge varying permit fees and have different inspection requirements

  • Scope Complexity: Projects involving multiple systems, structural modifications, or coordination with other trades require additional planning and execution time

Price Protection: Once you approve a quote, that price is locked regardless of unforeseen complications, material price fluctuations, or project duration. If we encounter additional problems during work, we stop, explain the situation, provide a revised quote for the additional scope, and proceed only with your approval.

This pricing model transfers risk from you to us. Traditional time-and-materials contractors charge for actual hours worked plus materials, creating incentives to work slowly and inflate costs. Our fixed pricing creates inverse incentives—we profit by working efficiently while maintaining quality. You benefit from cost certainty and guaranteed completion within budget.
