Employees earns money on Edge in a few different ways. This article explains how they get paid for getting mentioned in positive reviews online.


A few terms below that will help, please speak to your Employer for more details regarding these as the specifics might change from one customer to another:

  • Threshold: the minimum an Employee must hit before becoming eligible to receive their payout in a given month. By default, this is set to $25. If an Employee doesn't hit their threshold, any unpaid earnings will roll over to the next month so nobody will ever lose out on their payments. Click here for more information on the threshold.

  • Monthly Team Cap: this is the maximum payout total that will get sent to the team in any given month. The bonuses are paid on a first come first save basis, determined by the date of the review online. As with the threshold, any unpaid earnings roll over to the next month so the Employees that earned money AND hit the threshold but were not paid because the cap was met will be the first Employees to be paid in the following months.   • Rollover: this is simply any unpaid earnings that roll over to the next month due to the threshold or monthly team cap coming into play.


When customers mention Employees by name (nicknames and misspellings included, see What if a customer misspells the Employee's name or uses a nickname in the review online?) in positive (4-5 starts) online reviews, Edge keeps track of this and adds money to this Employee's Edge virtual bank.

Unless otherwise stipulated in the agreement between Edge and your Employer, Employees earn $5 per mention, and if multiple Employees are mentioned in the same review, that $5 is split equally amongst those who were mentioned.

This bonus money is available in the digital Wallet or emailed via digital check to the Employees from 'support@checkbook.io' so please be on the lookout for these checks if you opt for the Direct-Deposit option.
