How Can I Manage My GBP Connection and Permissions?

The first step to connect your GBP to Edge is to log in here to confirm you have owner permissions for the location(s) under your account: Google Business Profile - Sign In

To connect your GBP to Edge, ensure you have Manager or Owner access to the GBP for the location(s) you want to connect. If you do not have the required permissions, request access from the current profile owner.

If you do, please log into business.ouredge.com and navigate to:

  1. Sign into Edge: Log in to your Edge account.

  2. Navigate to Account Settings: Go to Settings > Account Settings.

  3. Start the Connection Process: Click the Google box or "Get Started" to begin connecting your GBP.

  4. Select the Correct Google Account: When the Google sign-in popup appears, choose the Google account that manages your GBP (this may differ from the email you use to log into Edge).

  5. Authorize Permissions: Complete the authorization prompts, ensuring all requested permissions are granted.

After taking these steps, you will see the connection status per location.

NOTE: It will take 24 hours for the connection to process before you or your management team can reply to reviews through Edge.

Do I need to take any action if I receive an email about reconnecting my Google Business Profile to Edge?

If you’ve received an email prompting you to reconnect your Google Business Profile to Edge, you may wonder whether immediate action is required. This article clarifies when it is necessary to act and addresses concerns about your reviews.

When No Action is Required

If your location or account is already connected to Edge, there is no need to take any action in response to the email. You can confidently disregard the message without worrying about its impact on your account. To verify whether your account is connected, you can check your Edge settings and confirm your Google Business Profile status.

To verify, log into your Edge account, navigate to the integration settings, and confirm your Google Business Profile status.

Once the connection is established, you can manage your team's permissions to reply to reviews by clicking the "Manage Permissions" button. From there, you can click into each manager and turn on their 'GBP Actions' permissions. Any manager wishing to respond to reviews will need this toggle turned on.

To check the connection status for each location, go to Settings > Account Settings > Click “Manage” in the GBP Box. Within this page, you can view all connection statuses for each location and establish a connection if there was an error connecting previously.

If you’re uncertain whether your account is already connected to Edge, it’s a good idea to log into your Edge account and confirm your Google Business Profile status in the integration settings. Reach out to the Edge support team if you encounter issues or need further clarification.

If a location doesn’t connect, it will show up in the “Not Connected” tab, and there will be instructions for how to resolve the issue. Sometimes this is a simple button, and sometimes there are settings that need to be updated in your GBP account.

Ensure all checkboxes are selected on the Google consent screen during the authorization process. Missing permissions can prevent the connection.

Additional Information:

1) If any locations do not connect, this might mean you do not have the proper permissions needed to the Google Business account. In this case, you can go to www.google.com/business to check your access or request access to the location. Once you receive access, you can try reconnecting through Edge.

2) If the Google Business access is separated amongst different accounts per location, you can connect more than one Google account

3) If a new location is added to the Edge account, Edge will automatically try connecting that location. You can double check any location’s status in the Location Connections page.

4) If you go to Account Settings and receive a message stating you don't have permissions to view the page, contact support@ouredge.com so we can adjust your permissions.
