You can use Boolean strings in the Search feature to find more accurate and relevant results for your list(s). This means that you don't have to choose the job titles as suggested in Outbase and can create your own specific string instead.

A Boolean search uses a string of modifiers or operators to combine, group or exclude keywords.

To create a search using Boolean strings within the Search feature, head to the Contacts Filters section and click the Job Titles filter.

Create your own string then add it to the filter in the string format with the brackets and hit enter. Once your Boolean string has been added you can continue refining the list, or click Apply to view your list.

Examples:

  • ("Marketing Manager" OR CMO OR "Chief Marketing Officer") - Here you will be searching for Marketing Managers, CMOs and Chief Marketing Officers, meaning any job title that will contain these keywords.

  • (Head OR Manager OR Chief) AND (Marketing OR Technology) - Here you are combining job seniorities with departments, i.e. you would be searching for a Head of Marketing, Marketing Manager, Chief Marketing etc.

You can read more about Boolean strings in our User Documentation.
