The dashboard home
When you log into OuterSignal, the first thing you'll see is the dashboard home. This is your command center — a real-time view of your customer base and the most important metrics at a glance.
Top metrics
Four summary metrics appear across the top of the dashboard:
Customers — the total number of customers OuterSignal has processed from your Shopify store
Signals — the number of customers who have been flagged as high-signal, meaning they match one or more of your Signal Criteria (more on this below)
Signal Rate — the percentage of your processed customers who are high-signal
Breakdown charts
Below the top metrics, you'll see charts breaking down your customer base — including a view of your high-signal customers and how they're distributed across your Signal Criteria.
Real-time intelligence feed
At the bottom of the dashboard home is your real-time intelligence feed — a live stream of the most recent customer activity, showing you who just ordered and flagging anything notable about them. This is where you'll first notice a VIP customer coming through.
What is a Signal?
A ⭐ Signal means a customer matches one or more criteria that make them notable beyond their purchase history. OuterSignal automatically evaluates every customer against your Signal Criteria and flags anyone who qualifies.
Default Signal Criteria include customers who are:
Known investors, wealth managers, fund managers, or ultra high net-worth individuals
Executive Assistant to a highly-known public figure
Immediate family of a highly-known public figure or celebrity
Address has property value > $5M
Influencer (10K+ personal followers on any platform)
Widely-known figure with a Wikipedia page OR other major extraordinary achievement
Renowned industry experts (e.g. best-selling authors, keynote speakers)
Senior executives at any company with social media >100K OR $100M+ valuation
High-signal customers are the ones most worth your attention — whether that's a personal note, a free gift, or an automated Klaviyo flow. Everything OuterSignal surfaces about signals is designed to help you act on these relationships before your competitors do.
Note: Signal Criteria can be personalized for your brand. If you are looking for someone in particular, maybe that's an athlete, a nutritionist or a retail buyer; reach out to your Customer Success Manager or support@outersignal.com and we can get it added in on the backend for you.
Navigating the app
