Campaigns are useful for getting information to your customers like new menu items, special events, and more. You can also use these campaigns to bring customers in by sending them a special offer that you can track using promos.
To create a campaign, log into your Ovation account at v2.ovationup.com and navigate to "Take Action" in the menu at the top. Now select Campaigns and choose "Create a Campaign".
1. Set up your campaign
Title your campaign something that you can use to refer back to it. This will not be shown to your customers, just you. Ex: "5/4/19 BOGO Offer"
Select the one-time blast campaign.
*This article is all about one-time blasts. See our article about automated campaigns if you are wanting to send a recurring message.
2. Choose your audience
Now you need to choose who this message is being sent to. By default, the message will go to everyone in your customer list. You can use the date and rating filters to select only certain customers. For instance, you could select all customers that had rated their experience as "Good" and "Great" AND have come in within the last 45 days.
3. Write your message
Now it's time to write your message. A preview of the message will be shown on the right. Remember that a text message can only hold 160 characters. If you go over the 160 character limit, it will notify you that it will count as multiple messages per recipient.
Pro tip: write the message how you would say it normally and then go back and see where you can shorten phrases, abbreviate words, or remove sections all-together.
This is also where you can attach promos to your message by clicking on the "+ Promo" button below the message box. For more about creating promos, please click here. Redemption of these promos can be viewed on the campaign list at v2.ovationup.com/campaigns.
4. Set up scheduling (optional)
By default, campaigns will be sent out immediately once they are created, but if you would like to send them on a specific date and time, toggle the switch and use the date and time picker to select when you would like them to be sent.
5. Launch your campaign
Before you launch, make sure that everything looks good and is going to send out as you would like. Feel free to visit previous steps to make necessary changes.
Once you're satisfied with your campaign, launch it! 🚀
Visiting the campaigns list will now show any past, current, or scheduled campaigns and give you summaries or options to edit them.
