Start by unboxing your Oculus Rift S.
You should have the following pieces of kit:
1 x Oculus Rift S Headset
2 x Oculus Touch Controllers
1 x mini display port adapter (found inside the black envelope)
1 x battery for each Touch Controller (found inside the black envelope)
Make sure you have the Oculus Rift S software downloaded onto your computer: https://www.oculus.com/setup/#rift-s-setup
Insert the batteries into your Touch Controllers. You will find a small arrow next to the trigger button on each controller. Slide this panel downwards to open the battery chamber.
Open the Oculus application on your desktop
Connect your Oculus Rift S to your computer
Make sure the mini display adapter is attached to the HDMI connector on your Oculus headset
Carefully unspool the headset cable making sure that it remains outside of the Oculus headband
Plug the Oculus cables into the mini display port and an available USB port on your computer
When your Rift S is correctly connected you will see two green ticks next to both inputs on your screen
Configure your Rift S
Once your headset is connected, click continue.
Oculus will now perform a Headset Sensor Check. Once complete, click Continue
*Note: Oculus may perform an automatic firmware update. Let this run until complete and then click Continue*
Pair your Controllers
You will now be prompted to insert batteries into your Touch Controllers. If you haven't already, do so now and click Continue.
You will be prompted to pair your right Controller by holding down the Oculus and B buttons.

Once paired, click continue.
Follow the instructions on screen to pair the left Controller.
You will now be prompted to put on your headset and continue your setup in VR.
Complete your Rift S setup by following the instructions on screen.
