A Frequently Bought Together (FBT) offer shows a small bundle of related products right on your product page, with a single button to add them all to the cart. It is one of the easiest ways to lift average order value because shoppers add the extra items before they even reach the cart.
This guide walks you through creating an FBT offer, choosing your offer products manually, and letting Shopify pick them automatically with Related products powered by the Search and Discovery app.
Step 1: Create a Product Page Offer
In your Shopify admin, open the Oxify Cart Drawer & Upsells app.
Go to the Product page offers section and create a new offer.
You will land on the Settings tab.
Step 2: Choose the Offer Type
Under Offer type, you have three options:
Cross-sell Suggests a single complementary product.
Frequently bought together Shows a bundle of products that pair well with the one being viewed.
Product add-on Offers an optional add-on, such as a warranty or gift wrap.
Select Frequently bought together.
Step 3: Name Your Offer and Set the Content
Internal name Give the offer a name only you can see, such as "Product page FBT". This is for your own reference and does not show to shoppers.
Title The heading shoppers see above the offer. The default is "You may also like".
Button text The text on the add button. You can use the {discount_price} and {original_price} variables to show pricing inside the button, for example: Claim Offer • {discount_price} {original_price}.
Use Add translations next to Title and Button text if you sell in multiple languages.
Click Continue to Offer.
Step 4: Set the Trigger
The trigger decides which product pages the offer appears on. Under Trigger, choose one:
All products Show the offer on every product page.
Specific products Click Select products and pick the exact products that should trigger the offer.
Products in specific collections Show the offer on every product inside the collections you choose.
For example, you could set Oxify Energy Drink Zero as the trigger so the offer only shows on that product page.
Step 5: Choose Your Offer Products
This is where you decide which products appear in the FBT bundle. You have two ways to do it.
Note: Only offer items that are in stock will be displayed on product pages.
Option A: Manual product selection
Pick the exact products you want to recommend. Use this when you know which items pair well together and want full control over the bundle.
Select Specific products.
Use the Search products field or click Browse to find the product you want to add.
Add one or more products. For example, pair Oxify Energy Drink Zero with Oxify BCAA Recovery Formula.
Reorder items by dragging the handle on the left, or remove an item with the trash icon.
Option B: Automatic with Related products
Let Shopify choose the recommendations for you. Select Frequently bought together for this option. The related products are recommended by the Search and Discovery app, which uses your store's order history and product relationships to surface items that are commonly purchased together.
Use this when you want recommendations to update on their own as buying patterns change, without picking products by hand.
Install and enable Shopify's free Search and Discovery app if you have not already.
Recommendations improve over time as your store collects more order data.
If there is not enough data for a product yet, the offer may show fewer items or none until Shopify has enough signals.
Step 6: Set the Discount (Optional)
You can sweeten the bundle with a discount to encourage shoppers to take all the items.
Discount type Choose No Discount, or set a percentage or fixed amount off.
Choose when the discount applies:
Always The discount is offered every time.
Only if trigger product is in cart The discount applies only when the trigger product is being purchased too.
Minimum products required for discount The minimum is 2 (the trigger product plus at least 1 other). The discount is only visible and applied when this many unique products are selected.
Click Continue to Design.
Step 7: Design and Placement
Design Match the offer to your theme: colors, button style, image size, and layout. Aim to make the bundle feel native to the product page.
Placement Choose where on the product page the offer appears, such as below the buy box.
Step 8: Activate and Test
Set the offer status to Active in the top right.
Open a trigger product page on your storefront.
Confirm the FBT block appears with the right products, title, and button.
Add the bundle to your cart and check that any discount applies as expected.
💡 Pro Tips
Manual for hero products, automatic for the long tail. Hand-pick bundles for your best sellers where you know the ideal pairing, and let Search and Discovery handle the rest of the catalog.
Keep bundles to 2 to 3 items. Shorter bundles convert better than long lists that overwhelm the shopper.
Pair complements, not duplicates. Recommend items used alongside the main product rather than alternatives to it.
Use a small discount as a nudge. Even a modest bundle discount can meaningfully lift the take rate.
