Step 1: Create a Project
Access your dashboard
Navigate to your dashboard screen in Parspec.
Click “Create Project”
Upload your project files
Navigate to Project Details and enter relevant information. Each Project requires a unique project name
Navigate to Opportunities and enter relevant information
Optional: Assign a Quote Owner from your team and input a Due Date.
💡Tip: You can enter multiple quotes for multiple different scopes or phases
💡Tip: You can enter multiple quote owners and due dates within multiple opportunities to track each within your bid board
Add any additional Opportunities within your Project.
Scroll down in the Opportunities screen to indicate multiple opportunities and owners (examples might be opportunity by scope, phase)
💡Tip: Now use our intelligent import to add in all your schedules, quotes, and allow Parspec to pull project details such as name or address
Step 3: Create a Bill of Materials (BOM) within each Opportunity
Click “Create Bill of Material”
Select the Customer Name from the dropdown.
The Bill of Material Name is optional.
Add multiple BOMs if needed
💡Tip: One BOM per customer
Link BOMs
Linking allows work done on the primary BOM to carry over to secondary BOMs, saving time.
💡Tip:
🔗 Linked – inherits all line items from the primary BOM
Unlinked – independent, editable version
Confirm BOM creation
Click Confirm once all information is entered.
Step 3: Add Customer and Scope
In the Bill of Materials screen, select a Customer Name from your saved contact management (dropdown).
Enter a Scope
Click Confirm.
💡 Tip: Adding a customer early helps keep your quotes and submittals better organized. Adding the scope helps with tracking and reporting purposes.
Step 4 : Start Building the BOM
You’ll now be located in the Specification tab of the BOM.
You can begin adding products in two ways:
Method | When to Use |
Import Products | You have a spreadsheet or pdf to upload |
Enter Manually | Only a few line items to enter by hand |
💡 Tip: Use Import Products to quickly parse data from a quote document using OCR
