Step 1: Create a Project

  1. Access your dashboard

    • Navigate to your dashboard screen in Parspec.

  2. Click “Create Project”

    • The only required field is the Project Name.

    • Optional: Assign a Quote Owner from your team and input a Due Date.

      • 💡Tip: These details sync with the bid board calendar and appear on your dashboard for quick tracking.

  3. Add internal notes or files

    • Scroll down in the project screen to attach files or add notes for internal reference.

Step 2: Create a Bill of Materials (BOM)

  1. Click “Create Bill of Material”

    • Select the Customer Name from the dropdown.

    • The Bill of Material Name is optional.

  2. Add multiple BOMs if needed

    • 💡Tip: One BOM per customer

  3. Link BOMs

    • Linking allows work done on the primary BOM to carry over to secondary BOMs, saving time.

    • 💡Tip:

      • 🔗 Linked – inherits all line items from the primary BOM

      • Unlinked – independent, editable version

  4. Confirm BOM creation

    • Click Confirm once all information is entered.

Step 3 – Add Customer and Scope

  1. In the Bill of Materials screen, select a Customer Name from your saved contact management (dropdown).

  2. Enter Gear into the Scope dropdown

  3. Click Confirm.

💡 Tip: Adding a customer early helps keep your quotes and submittals better organized. Adding the gear scope helps with tracking and reporting purposes.

Step 4 – Add a Single Line Item

  1. In your BOM, click Enter Manually

  2. Add a Manufacturer (e.g. Eaton)

  3. Add a Model Number such as “Gear Lot”

💡 Tip: Need to include a miscellaneous item? Just hit Enter to add another line item below.

Step 5 – Create a Gear Lot

  1. Click the pencil icon to pull up the lot modal “+” (Add Lot) button

  2. Give your lot a name (e.g. “Gear”)

  3. Enter the total price (and margin/discount if applicable)

  4. Click X to close the pop-up

Step 6 – Assign the Lot to the Line Item

  1. In the Lot cell of your line, start typing your lot name

  2. Select it when it appears in the drop-down and the section subtotal will now update to show the Lot amount

Step 7 – Customize Quote

  1. Click Create Quote in the Pricing & Lead Time tab

  2. Choose the appropriate template

    • You’ll see your new template in the dropdown (e.g. “branch name Template”)

  3. Pinned fields will appear at the top for quick access

    • Click the pin icons to focus only on editable fields

    • Click the three dots to view all fields and toggle sections on/off

  4. In the Attachments section, click Upload

  5. Upload your full Gear BOM PDF. This attachment will be appended after your quote so the customer still receives the detailed gear breakdown - without you having to rebuild it in Parspec.

  6. Push or Pull Templates Across BOMs: Click on the three vertical dots and select Push to BOM to apply the same customization done on the original BOM

💡 Tip: Use Push to BOM when you want all quote customization to be identical.
Use Pull to BOM when you want the quote customization to apply to newly added BOMs.

Step 8: Generate the Quote

  1. Preview quote

    • Toggle header, cover page, and attachments as needed.

    • Review sections, totals, and terms & conditions.

  2. PDF the quote

    • Click Close, select BOMs, then click Create.

    • Quotes can be downloaded or reviewed in the Final Deliverables tab.
