This article walks through two ways to get started: Option A covers creating a project, while Option B shows how to create a Quick BOM.
Option A — Create a Project
Step 1: Create Project
Step 2: Upload Documents
Drop in schedules and drawings. The AI parser extracts project name, address, and other details automatically.
Wait for the blue dot on the second tab to confirm parsing is complete.
Step 3: Confirm or Enter Project Details
Click back into Project Details and review the extracted info.
Edit if needed, then click Create Project.
Step 4: Add Opportunity Details, Owners & Due Dates
Opportunities group BOMs by phase or scope (e.g. Lighting, Gear, EV/Solar). For each opportunity you can assign scopes, quote owners, and project managers from the drop-down.
Step 5: Create a BOM(s)
In the Opportunities tab, select the caret/dropdown icon next to the opportunity name.
Select the Create BOM icon.
The Create and Manage BOMs window will appear.
Enter a BOM name.
If you do not enter a name, the system will assign a default name, such as BOM 1.
Select the company/customer the BOM should be associated with.
The dropdown will show companies available in your database.
If the customer does not exist, contact an admin or create a new company.
Step 6: Add Additional Customers, If Needed
If you only need to create the BOM for one customer, select Confirm.
If you need to quote additional customers, select Add Customer.
Add the additional customer information.
Select Confirm when finished.
For more information on setting up linked BOMs for multiple customer quotes, refer to the Knowledge Base article.
Optional, Step 7: Create an Additional Opportunity
Select the Create Opportunity icon in the upper-right corner.
Enter the opportunity name. Add any associated scopes or additional opportunity details. Save the opportunity.
Option B — Create a (Quick) BOM
Best for: jumping straight to product entry without full project setup.
Click Create BOM.
Select an existing project or type a new Project name.
Enter company details, then click Confirm.
You land in the BOM — follow the orange action button to start building your product list.
