Step by Step
Step 1: Start your Submittal
From your project, click Create Document → Create Submittal.
You’ll see options to customize your package before compiling.
Step 2: Customize Cover Page
Choose from two cover page layouts or upload your own.
Details such as Prepared By and Customer Information are automatically pulled from your project.
💡 Tip: Keeping project details up-to-date ensures consistency across all documents.
Step 3: Customize your Table of Contents and Line Items
Your project’s line items appear in the Table of Contents.
Toggle on/off which details to display.
Hyperlinks are automatically created for model numbers, making it easy to navigate.
Any notes added in the Submittal Notes column are rolled up into a Summary Layout.
Step 4: Customize your header & Footer
Add custom text, and logos to appear at the top and bottom of each page
Step 5: Contents Formatting
Adjust formatting for:
Types of documents to include
Section breaks
Kit/component breakdowns
Page fitting (especially useful for drawings

Step 6: Compile your Submittal
Click Compile Submittal to generate the document.
From here, you can scroll through the full package:
Cover page
Table of contents with clickable links
Highlighted notes and markups
Indexed navigation back to TOC
Step 7: Share your Submittal
Once your Submittal is compiled, you have several sharing options:
Email directly (via Outlook integration)
Download as PDF
Copy shareable link – allows customers to access online.
Using this option, you can track:
Who viewed your package
Which version was accessed
If it was printed or downloaded (with date & time)
The shareable link can be password protected, accessible to all users, or accessible only specific emails. Learn more on customizing the shared link here.
Tips
Keep project details current – Information from your project (Prepared By, Customer, Address) flows into your cover pages automatically.
Use notes strategically – Notes added in the Submittal Notes column roll up into a clean summary and appear across datasheets and markups.
Leverage hyperlinks – TOC links and data sheet hyperlinks make navigation easy for customers.
Track customer engagement – Use shareable links instead of email attachments to see who viewed, printed, or downloaded your package.
