The Site Match Report allows you to find your ideal site faster. After inputting the criteria that's important to you, Almanac will search, score and rank over 30,000 retail centers based on how well they match your search.

Create a report

First things first - you’ll need to create the report. Here, you’ll need to input the criteria you’re looking for in a retail center. Start by inputting details on your target consumer.

Add consumer criteria

Add consumer criteria: Input details of your target consumer

In the consumer criteria step, you need to add the traits that represent your target consumer. This information will be used to score the retail centers based on how popular they are with that consumer.

Start by adding the traits that are important to you.

You can select from:

  • Age

  • Household income

  • Education level

  • Commute type

  • Industry

  • Homeownership

Once you’ve added your traits, you can select the specific variables for each.

For example:

  • Age: 20-24, 25-29, 30-34

  • Household income: Below $10k

  • Education level: High school graduates

  • Commute type: Public transport

  • Industry: Healthcare

  • Homeownership: Owned outright, Owned with mortgage

You can select multiple variables per criteria.

⚠️ Note: This step can’t be skipped. You need to select at least one trait and variable to create your report.

Once you’ve selected your consumer criteria, click Continue to progress to the next step.

Add market criteria

Add market criteria: Input retailers that you’d like (and dislike) to see as existing tenants

In the market criteria step, you are able to add retailers that you do and don’t want to see as tenants in the retail center. Retail centers will be scored positively for including desired co-tenants as well as having an absence of undesired co-tenants.

This step can be skipped.

The market criteria includes:

  • Desired co-tenants

  • Undesired co-tenants

You can then use the new select inputs to search for and select retailers that you do or don’t want to be near.

Once you’ve selected the retailers, or if you decided you want to skip this step, click Continue to progress to the next step.

Apply filters

Add filters step: exclude retail centers based on location and existing tenants

In the apply filters step, you can refine your search by applying filters. Your selections here will exclude retail centers that do not match your criteria.

The filters include:

  • State

  • City

  • Existing tenants

The state and city filters enable you to refine your search by location. Input the locations that you wish to include - all the rest will be excluded.

You can use the state and city filters together. For example, you can select all of the states of California as well as the city of Las Vegas.

🎓 Tip: If you choose to include a state - all of the cities within that state will be included. You will not be able to search for those cities in the city filter because they have already been included.

The existing tenants filter lets you exclude retail centers that include retailers that you

select. This filter can be used to exclude retail centers where you already have a store present.

⚠️ Note: This filter works differently to the undesired co-tenants option in the market criteria step.

In the undesired co-tenants option, retail centers will be marked down for including one of the selected retailers. In the existing tenants filter, the retail centers will be excluded altogether.

Retail centers that exist in locations you have not selected, or that include tenants that you wish to exclude, will not appear in the results.

Once you have selected your filters, click Continue to load your results.
