My pet dog or cat had diarrhea (or felt sick) after trying Pawy Fresh Meals. What should I do?

Diarrhea / Does not tolerate well / Digestive disorders

Most pets digest our fresh Pawy meals better than their previous food, but a few have a bumpy start. Here is what to check.

Was the transition gradual enough?

Softer stools in the first days are common and usually settle on their own. Studies show a pet's gut microbiome can take up to 21 days to fully adapt to a new diet, so give the change time.

  • If your pet has a particularly sensitive digestive system, go slower than the standard 7 days: move to the 10-day schedule, or add just an extra spoonful of Pawy per day.

  • The full day-by-day schedules are here: for dogs and for cats.

  • Consider adding probiotics to the meals for around 20 days. Clients who have had this problem report excellent results, and you can find probiotics easily at your local pet store.

Have you tried several recipes?

We offer 4 recipes, and some pets are intolerant to one specific protein. Switching recipe often solves it on its own.

Was your pet on a dry diet before?

Pets used to dry food sometimes struggle at first with the vegetables in our fresh meals. Mixing Pawy with their previous food for the first few days helps them adapt.

If your dog was previously fed dry kibble, adding cooked white rice (cooked about twice as long as usual, so it is very soft) often improves things.

Were the meals handled properly?
