See a video of how to do this here.
Before you start
You need to have already purchased a domain (for example, oakwoodtrailshoa.com) from a domain provider or web hosting service, such as GoDaddy, Namecheap, or Squarespace Domains.
Your website must already be published. Every PayHOA website starts with a base domain ending in .site.payhoa.com, and you can connect a custom domain once the site is live. See How to Create Your Website in PayHOA.
Make sure you can log in to your domain provider's account, since you'll need to add DNS records there.
Turn on Custom domain
Go to Other Tools > Website Builder.
On the General Settings tab, scroll down to Custom domain and turn on the toggle.
Enter your custom domain name.
Select Validate. This checks that the domain hasn't already been used on another PayHOA website.
Continue to DNS setup.
Add the CNAME records with your domain provider
The DNS setup section shows the exact CNAME records you need to add.
Log in to your domain provider in a new tab.
Go to your domain's DNS settings (sometimes called DNS management or Manage DNS).
Add each CNAME record exactly as shown in PayHOA, then save your changes.
If you're not sure how to add records, you can send the CNAME records from PayHOA to your domain provider's support team and ask them to add them for you.
Verify your domain
Return to the Website Builder in PayHOA.
Select Verify.
If the domain isn't ready yet, don't worry. DNS changes can take up to 48 hours to take effect. Come back later and select Verify again. Once verification succeeds, your website will be available at your custom domain.
Tip: If verification still fails after 48 hours, double-check that each CNAME record in your domain provider matches PayHOA exactly, with no extra characters or spaces.
