What is Payday Super?
From 1 July 2026, employers must pay their employees’ superannuation on the same day they pay wages. Super funds must receive contributions within 7 business days after each payday.
Payroller is already preparing for these changes to ensure employers stay fully compliant.
Payroller uses BEAM, our integrated super clearing house. This means that once Payday Super begins:
1. Super will be paid at the same time as payroll
When you finalise a pay run, Payroller will prompt you to submit super immediately through BEAM.
2. Contributions will be processed faster
BEAM will process your super payments so that funds are received for contributions within the required 7 business days.
3. You’ll see clearer status updates
You’ll be able to track the progress of your super payments in Payroller, including:
Submitted
Processing
Received by the fund
4. Cut-off alerts
If a payment is submitted close to weekends or public holidays, Payroller may display an alert about potential delays. This helps you avoid late submissions and penalties.
5. Payroller handles compliance automatically
Payroller will:
Trigger BEAM submissions automatically after payroll
Ensure your payment dates meet Payday Super timelines
Help reduce the risk of Super Guarantee Charge (SGC) penalties
Please note that if you already use BEAM in Payroller, you’re all set. We’ll do the heavy lifting behind the scenes so you stay compliant without any manual steps.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to change clearing houses?
No. Payroller already uses BEAM, which will remain compliant with Payday Super requirements.
When will these changes take effect?
From 1 July 2026.
Will the payments happen automatically?
You will continue to approve your super payments, but Payroller will guide you to submit them as soon as payroll is completed.
What if I submit super late?
The ATO will introduce stricter penalties under the updated Super Guarantee Charge (SGC). Payroller is building safeguards to help you avoid this.
