How to make a custom recurring shift

Learn how to make a recurring Shift in Payroller with our simple guide below.

Step 1: Go to ‘Roster’.

Step 2: Click on the ‘Add Shift’ button. If your employee is already rostered, you can directly click on the date to add an additional shift.

Step 3: Select the employee that is working.

Step 4: Add the Start and End time.

Step 5: Add any Meal, Rest breaks and Notes if needed.

You will also have the option to indicate whether the breaks are paid below.

Please note that indicating whether a meal is paid or not will determine calculations on the rosters as well as for pay runs generated from rosters.

Step 6: Select ‘Custom recurrence’.

Step 7: Select the recurrence Start date.

Step 8: Set the Repeat occurrence to repeat either every Day, Week, and Month.

If you select the shift to recur every Week you will need to select the days of the week the shift recurs.

If you select the shift to recur every month you will need to specify the recurrence type. Whether the shift will recur on the specific day or date each month.

Step 9: Set the recurrence end date.

Please note if no recurrence end date is selected, rostered shifts will recur forever.

Step 10: Click ‘Save’ on the Custom recurrence box.

Step 11: Click ‘Save’ again.

This shift will now automatically be added to the roster.
