What is Edusfere?

  • PDP Digital, a product of Purposeful Design Publications (PDP), is powered by Edusfere, a comprehensive curriculum management and planning platform designed to centralize and streamline all aspects of instructional planning and documentation.

  • Edusfere is a daily workspace for teachers that brings lesson planning, teaching resources, and documentation together in one place, so you spend less time searching across tools and more time teaching.

  • Lessons in PDP Digital are a digitized version of the Teacher Edition. Within the platform, you'll find lesson preparation instructions, step-by-step teaching instructions, and the resources attached to each activity. Activities can even be adapted to fit your classroom needs.

  • Edusfere is used by schools and content providers to organize and align curriculum across grades and subjects. To learn more, visit Edusfere.com.

Which browser do I need to use?

  • For the best experience, we recommend the latest version of Google Chrome. However, Edusfere works on any current, up-to-date web browser.

First Time Sign-in

  • Use the link provided by your school.

  • You can sign in with Google, Microsoft, or with the email connected to your teacher account.

  • If signing in with email, you will receive a One-time Passcode (OTP) sent to your registered email.

  • Enter the OTP and select Login.

Navigation Basics

  1. The Dashboard (Course Hub)

  • My PDP Digital Courses: The courses you have been assigned a license for will appear on your Course Hub dashboard.

    • If your school has a separate Edusfere subscription in addition to PDP Digital, your school content will appear as My Courses.

  • Search and filters: Use the search bar at the top of the dashboard to find content by keyword or topic.

    • To narrow the results, select Filters and choose a Grade and/or Subject.

    • Results include matching courses, units, lessons, and activities, with the number of matches shown and your search term highlighted.

    • Meaning of the icons in the results: A book icon = unit level; a clipboard icon = lesson level; no icon = activity level. Clicking on one of the results will open the selection.

  • Expand a course card: Click the expand arrow/chevron on a blue course card to expand or collapse it. (For drilling down to units, lessons, and activities, see “Navigating through a Course.”)

  • Help button: Located at the bottom right of every screen — click it any time you need assistance.

  • My Profile: Click the dropdown arrow next to your name in the bottom left corner to open the menu, then select View profile. (See FAQs for Teachers for Can I add a photo or image to My Profile?

2. Left Navigation Pane

  • Click the sidebar icon at the top-left corner to collapse or expand the left navigation pane. Collapsing this pane provides a full-width view of the current page.

  • Course names are truncated to fit. Hover over a course name in the menu to the left to view its full name.

  • Navigate to any of the courses in the list by clicking on the course name. The list of Units/Chapters will be displayed. From there, click the Unit/Chapter number to expand the list of Lessons. (Please note Unit and Chapter may be used interchangeably in this guide.)

  • Hovering over the Lesson will display the full name.

3. Navigating through a Course

  • Open a course by clicking on the blue course card or by using the left navigation pane. Course information appears within a window at the top of the page, with Unit cards below.

  • You can also drill down without fully opening the course: click the arrow/chevron on a blue course card to expand it and reveal its Units, then Lessons, then Activities. Click any level directly—down to an individual activity—to navigate straight to it, without opening each level in turn. Click the arrow again to collapse.

  • From the Course, Unit, and Lesson level views, a Print button appears at the top right corner. Each Print option begins with the same Unit overview page—Key Ideas, Description, and unit details such as the companion print title, page range, and lesson and activity counts.

    • Compact gives you a quick, at-a-glance summary, listing the unit's lesson titles only—like a table of contents—without objectives, activities, or resources.

    • Expanded gives you the full teaching detail. After the overview, each lesson appears as its own card showing the number of activities and estimated time, Learning Objectives, Files & links (such as Blackline Masters and glossaries), and the activities within the lesson.

  • Click the “Expand” button to view details about the course.

  • The sidebar on the right lists the Subject, Grade, and Companion print title(s).

  • Hover over the center of the window, where a “Collapse” button will become visible.

  • Select a Unit to open by clicking the unit number in the left navigation pane, or by clicking directly on the blue card displayed beneath the Course Overview.

  • Once the Unit is open, the same option to expand a window with details about the chapter can be viewed:

    • Key ideas

    • Description

    • Learning Objectives

    • Companion print title(s) and the Page numbers

  • The number of Lessons in the Unit will be displayed just before the Lesson cards.

  • Each Lesson appears as its own blue card. Select the desired Lesson card to open (or use the left navigation pane to click on the desired Lesson).

4. Inside a Lesson

  • A path (breadcrumb trail) appears at the top of the window. Click any blue text item to navigate back to that screen.

  • Read: Select this button on the far right to provide a fuller reading view; this will collapse the left navigation pane.

  • Share Link: Click to copy a shareable link to the lesson. Click it again for a pop-up menu that will include the option to deactivate the link.

  • Learning Objectives: These are from each Lesson and are displayed in a list format at the top of the page.

  • Vocabulary: Hover over a vocabulary word to reveal its definition.

  • Materials list:

    • The Materials used for the lesson are compiled in a list above the blue Activity cards. They are also displayed within the activity where they are used.

    • Physical materials appear in green.

    • Attachment documents or presentation decks appear in gold. Click the file to open.

    • Video links appear in blue (e.g., PDP Science Grade 5 – Unit 1 Foundations).

5. Inside an Activity

  • Each Activity is displayed on its own blue card. Double-click to open a specific activity, or click the “Expand” dropdown on the far right to expand all of the lesson’s activities.

  • Activity Summary: This is found underneath the Activity title and is a brief description of what students will be doing.

  • Prep/class times: General estimates of the preparation and class time the Activity requires.

  • Objectives: Each activity will reference the Learning Objective number (from the Objective list) found at the top of the Lesson page.

  • Preparation: Lists things that need to be done ahead of class to prepare for the lesson.

  • Instructions: Step-by-step directions for carrying out the lesson.

    • Expected student responses to teacher questions appear in parentheses as bold text.

  • Materials: Lists items, specific documents, display materials, music clips, or videos needed for the Activity. Clicking on file names will open the attachments/links.

  • Key concept(s): Lists key ideas in the Activity.

  • Stage of lesson: Suggests the part of the lesson the activity is best suited for (for example, guided practice, review, or homework).

  • Can reuse materials: A yes/no field for whether Materials can be used again without additional preparation.
