Cultivation Challenge: common questions

Answers to common questions about joining, training in, and completing a challenge.

Written by Ivan Escott

How do I join the challenge?

If you're new to Peak Strength, you can join during onboarding: the challenge appears as an option when you choose your training path. If you're already training, the easiest way is to open the Challenges tab (or your Profile) and tap to join from there, which sets up your challenge training plan directly. Either way, you're officially enrolled once you tap "Start Training Cycle" to build your challenge plan.

For the Cultivation Challenge, enrollment is open through August 8, 2026.

What are the requirements for completing the challenge?

Each challenge sets a number of workouts you need to complete before it ends. For the Cultivation Challenge, that's 80 workouts by October 31, 2026. Any workout you complete on your challenge plan counts, including bonus workouts you add yourself.

What is the reward for completing the challenge?

You earn a permanent badge for your Challenge Trophies. While you're enrolled, you'll see a greyed-out preview of the badge. Complete the challenge and it converts to the full-color version, which you can view and share anytime, even after the challenge ends. The Cultivation 2026 badge is exclusive to this challenge: it's a one-time badge that won't be earnable again.

I'm enrolled, so why aren't my workouts counting?

Most often, this is because the challenge hasn't officially started yet. Workouts only count from the challenge's start date forward. If you joined early and completed prep workouts before then, those are there to ease you in, but they don't count toward your goal. For the Cultivation Challenge, workouts begin counting on August 2, 2026.

If you completed any workouts before joining the challenge, those won't count either. Only workouts you complete after enrolling, once the challenge has started, go toward your total.

Can I do my current training plan and still participate in the challenge?

No. Joining a challenge builds a new challenge-specific training plan, which replaces your current one, and you'll train on the challenge plan for the duration of the challenge. Your completed workouts and history are always saved. After the challenge, you can choose the same Training Focus again and start a fresh Training Cycle with it, though you won't pick up your previous cycle where you left off.

Can I create a new training plan while in the challenge?

Building a new training plan means leaving the challenge. While you're enrolled, the "Edit" option on your Training Plan Overview is replaced with "Leave." If you leave and build a new plan, you'll lose your challenge progress. You're only removed once you finish building the new plan, so if you change your mind before then, your challenge participation stays as it was.

Can I leave the challenge?

Yes. To leave, build a new training plan through the "Leave" option on your Training Plan Overview. Note that leaving loses all your challenge progress. If enrollment is still open, you can rejoin, but you'll start over from zero. Once enrollment closes, you can't rejoin.
