There are times when you may need to transfer between two accounts e.g. at the end or beginning of a financial year or if you need to increase or decrease a balance of an Account.
Note: If you need to transfer funds between names, see the Article, Transfer between Names.
Transferring funds from an Account that has a negative balance needs to be completed in reverse from one account to another and is explained in more detail at the bottom of this article.
Transfer between Accounts
From Transactions > Transfer between Accounts, select the Account you want to transfer money from.
Select the Account you want to transfer money to.
Enter the Amount to transfer.
Enter or amend the transfer Date, for year end transfers choose the last day of the financial year for example.
Enter any Notes to help you identify the reason for the transfer.
Click Transfer.
Transfer a negative balance from one account to another
Instead of transferring a negative amount, with a minus (-) in front from the From account to the To account, you need to transfer a positive amount in the opposite direction, so you need to enter as follows;
From Transactions > Transfer between Accounts, select the Account you want to transfer money TO (negative Account) in the Transfer From field.
Select the user account you want to transfer money FROM (positive Account usually but not always) in the Transfer To field.
Enter the Amount to transfer.
Enter the Date to transfer.
Enter any Notes to help you identify the reason for the transfer.
Click Transfer.
