How do I see where shoppers abandon my quiz (drop-off analytics)?

Use PerfectMatch's question-by-question drop-off report to find and fix the exact spot where shoppers leave your quiz.

Written by ZP Support Team

Every quiz loses some shoppers before the results page. PerfectMatch: AI Shopping Quiz shows you exactly which question they leave on, so you can fix the weak spot instead of guessing.

Where to find it

  1. Open Analytics in the app

  2. In the Quiz Performance table, click View details next to the quiz you want to inspect

  3. Scroll to the "Where you lose the most people" section

You'll see a question-by-question breakdown of how many shoppers reached each question and how many left there, so the biggest drop-off point stands out immediately. The detail page also includes an AI-generated insight that highlights notable drop-offs, plus the full quiz funnel (Quiz views → Completions → Add to cart → Orders). Use the date range and device controls at the top to focus on a specific period or compare desktop and mobile behavior.

How to reduce drop-off

Once you know where shoppers leave, try these fixes in the quiz builder:

  • Shorten the quiz — Fewer questions means more shoppers reach the results page. If drop-off climbs steadily toward the end, cut or merge later questions

  • Simplify the wording — If one question loses far more shoppers than its neighbors, it may be confusing or too personal. Rewrite it in plainer language (the AI regenerate button can suggest alternatives)

  • Reduce required questions — Turn off the required toggle where an answer isn't essential, so a shopper who's unsure can keep moving instead of leaving

After making a change, republish the quiz and check back in a week or two to see whether the drop-off improved. If you'd like to compare an improved version against the original before committing, run an A/B test.
