Installing Cards in Apple Wallet

What is Apple Wallet?

Apple Wallet is Apple's digital wallet app for iPhone, allowing you to store loyalty cards, tickets, and passes on your device. Installing your Perkstar loyalty card in Apple Wallet provides quick access and automatic notifications when you're near the business location.

  • No need to open an app—cards appear when needed

Requirements:

  • iPhone with Apple Wallet (iOS 6 or later)

  • Camera access for QR code scanning

  • Internet connection for card installation

Installing your loyalty card


Step 1: Access the card QR code

  1. Log in to your account

  2. Navigate to Cards from the left-hand menu

  3. Select the card you want to install

  4. Locate the QR code in the Card Information section


Step 2: Scan the QR code

  1. Open your iPhone camera or QR code scanner

  2. Point the camera at the QR code on your screen

  3. Tap the notification that appears to open the card issuing form


Step 3: Complete the card issuing form

Enter your information in the required fields:

  • First name – Enter your first name

  • Last name – Enter your last name

  • Contact number – Enter your phone number

  • Email – Enter your email address

Note: Some cards may have additional custom fields depending on the business requirements. Complete all required fields marked with an asterisk (*).


Step 4: Install in Apple Wallet

  1. Review your information for accuracy

  2. Click Install in Apple Wallet

  3. The card preview will appear in Apple Wallet

  4. Click Add in the top-right corner

Viewing and managing your card

Opening your card

  1. Open the Wallet app on your iPhone

  2. Tap on your loyalty card to view details

  3. The card displays your current points, rewards, or visit count

Accessing card options

Pass Details – View comprehensive information about your card:

  • Available visits or points balance

  • Total visits or purchases made

  • Card benefits and rewards

  • Active links (displayed on the back of the card)

  • Business contact information

  • Terms and conditions

Notifications – Manage how and when you receive card updates:

  • Automatic Updates: Keep enabled to ensure your card reflects the latest changes (updated points, rewards, visit counts). Recommended: On

  • Allow Notifications: Receive important updates, promotions, and reminders related to your loyalty card. Recommended: On

  • Suggest on Lock Screen: Card appears automatically on your lock screen when you're near the business location, making check-ins and redemptions more convenient. Recommended: On

Remove Pass – Permanently delete the card from your Apple Wallet. Use this option if you no longer need the card or want to reinstall it.

Using your card at the business

Redeeming rewards or checking in

Method 1: Lock screen suggestion

Tip: When near the business (with location services enabled), your card automatically appears on your lock screen. Simply tap to open.

Method 2: Manual access

  1. Open the Wallet app

  2. Tap your loyalty card

  3. Show the barcode to staff for scanning

Method 3: Quick access

Info: Double-click the side button (or home button on older iPhones) to access recently used cards.

Troubleshooting

QR code won't scan?

  • Ensure your camera has permission to access QR codes

  • Increase screen brightness for better QR code visibility

  • Use a different device to display the QR code if scanning from the same device

"Add to Apple Wallet" button doesn't work?
