When to restore a card

You can restore your Perkstar loyalty card if:

  • You accidentally deleted it from your digital wallet

  • You lost or replaced your device

  • You switched to a new phone

  • You want to reinstall the card for any reason

Tip: Your points, rewards, and visit history are always safe. Card data is stored in the business's system, not on your device. Restoring a card simply reinstalls it with all your existing data intact.

Restoring a card on iOS (Apple Wallet)

Step 1: Access the card QR code

  1. Log in to your account (or access the card link from the business)

  2. Navigate to Cards from the left-hand menu

  3. Select the card you want to restore

  4. Locate the QR code in the Card Information section

Step 2: Scan the QR code

  1. Open your iPhone camera or QR code scanner

  2. Point the camera at the QR code

  3. Tap the notification to open the card issuing form

Step 3: Complete the card issuing form

Enter your information in the required fields:

  • First name – Enter your first name

  • Last name – Enter your last name

  • Contact number – Enter your phone number (use the same number registered to your account)

  • Email – Enter your email address (use the same email registered to your account)

Step 4: Verify and restore

Info: After entering your details, the system checks if this card was previously installed to your account.

If the card was previously installed:

  1. A Continue with Card Issue button appears

  2. Click Continue with Card Issue

  3. A confirmation code is sent to your registered contact number

  4. Enter the confirmation code in the Confirmation Code field

  5. Click Continue with Card Issue again

If the card was never installed or was deleted:

Note: The card installs normally without requiring a confirmation code.

Step 5: Add to Apple Wallet

  1. The card loads in Apple Wallet with all your existing data

  2. Click Add in the top-right corner

Tip: Your card is restored with your complete points and rewards history!

Restoring a card on Android

  4. Click Install in Google Wallet

  5. Click Add to complete restoration

For Home Screen (PWA)

  3. Verify with confirmation code if previously installed

  4. Click Install on Home Screen

  5. Follow your browser's installation prompts

Understanding verification codes

When verification is required

A confirmation code is sent when:

  • The card status is "Installed" (active card on a device)

  • You're reinstalling a card that was previously active

When verification is NOT required

No confirmation code is sent when:

  • Card status is "Deleted" (you previously removed it)

  • Card status is "Not Installed" (never installed before)

  • Your account has no email/SMS services connected

Troubleshooting

Didn't receive the confirmation code?

  • Verify you entered the correct phone number or email

  • Check your phone's messages and spam folder

  • Wait up to 60 seconds for delivery

  • Ensure the phone number matches your account registration

  • Request a new code by starting the process again

Confirmation code not working?

  • Check that you entered the code correctly (no spaces)

  • Ensure the code hasn't expired (typically valid for 5-10 minutes)

  • Request a new code if needed

  • Verify you're using the most recent code sent

Can't access my registered phone number or email?

Warning: Contact the business or support to update your contact information before attempting to restore the card.

Card restored but missing points or rewards?

Note: This shouldn't happen as data is stored in the business's system. Contact the business if your balance appears incorrect after restoration.

Getting an error during restoration?

  • Ensure you have a stable internet connection

  • Try closing and reopening the issuing form

  • Clear your browser or app cache

  • Use a different device if the problem persists

  • Contact the business for assistance

Card won't scan or install?

  • Check your internet connection

  • Ensure your digital wallet app is up to date

  • Try restarting your device

  • See the installation troubleshooting guides for your platform

Restoring on a new device

When switching phones

Step 1: Prepare your new device

  • Install Apple Wallet (iPhone) or Google Wallet (Android)

  • Ensure you have internet connectivity

  • Have access to your registered phone number or email

Step 2: Restore your cards

Follow the standard restoration process for each card:

  1. Access the QR code (log in from your new device or ask the business to resend)

  2. Scan and complete the form

  3. Verify with confirmation code

  4. Add to your wallet

Step 3: Remove from old device (optional)

Tip: If you still have your old device, remove the cards from it to avoid confusion.

Multiple devices

Info: You can install the same card on multiple devices simultaneously. Each device installation follows the same verification process.

Data security and verification

Why verification codes are required

Tip: Confirmation codes prevent unauthorized access to your loyalty account. By requiring a code sent to your registered contact information, we ensure that only you can restore your card with your points and rewards.

What data is restored

When you restore a card, you get:

  • Complete points or rewards balance

  • Visit history

  • Membership tier status (if applicable)

  • Earned rewards and benefits

  • Card expiration date (if applicable)

What is NOT stored on your device

  • Points and rewards data (stored in business system)

  • Transaction history (stored in business system)

  • Personal information beyond card display

  • Payment information (stored separately if applicable)

Info: This means your loyalty data is always safe, even if you lose your device.

Best practices

Keep your contact information current: Always maintain up-to-date phone numbers and email addresses in your account to ensure smooth card restoration.

Save QR codes or links: Bookmark the card installation page or save QR code screenshots for quick access if you need to restore cards.

Don't panic if you delete a card: Your points and rewards are safe. Simply restore the card following the steps above.

Multiple cards: If you have multiple loyalty cards, restore them one at a time to avoid confusion.

Test after restoration: After restoring a card, verify your balance is correct and the card displays properly.
