If you haven't already, read Stopwatch: Logging Time Spent on CCM, which covers the basics of tracking your clinical work using Phamily. This article will teach you how to adjust clinical documentation in Phamily.
Where to See Auto-Logged Time and Activities
In the Timeline
All activities will show up in the Patient Timeline
There are two types of Activities in Phamily: Auto-logged and Manual. These look a bit different from each other:
Auto-logged activity
Manually Logged activity
Auto-logged is the time captured by the stopwatch. It's saved whenever you leave the patient's chart and is grouped over the day
Manual is the time you attest when you log a custom activity
In the Patient Chart
Any activity with details will show up in the "Recent Activity" section of the patient chart.
Adding Details About Your Activity
During your regular patient chart reviews, you can go back through the timeline and add details for auto-logged time via the stopwatch.

Advanced Stopwatch Functions
Logging an Activity Outside of Phamily
A large portion of patient care happens outside of Phamily (e.g. medication refills, lab reviews, phone calls). Whenever you step away from Phamily, the stopwatch will continue to run. If you were providing care for the patient while gone, click "Yes, Use" to keep the time. If you stepped away for another reason (e.g. a lunch break) you can choose to keep the time from before you stepped way by clicking "No, Revert".
Customizing the Time
Sometimes, the stopwatch won't reflect the time you spent providing care. For instance, if the patient called when you didn't have Phamily open. Or, you might have noticed a phone encounter in the EHR that wasn't reflected in Phamily. In these situations, click on the stopwatch button to open up the "details" panel and then click on the "pencil" button to edit the form. There you can log an activity with a custom time and date.
Multitasking with Stopwatch
Sometimes when working in Phamily, it helps to open multiple tabs. For example, if you are on hold with a patient's insurance company, you may want to open the inbox to answer other patients in the mean time. To help you keep track of your work, Phamily updates the tab description with the patient's name and stopwatch status
Pausing the Stopwatch
If you have to walk away from Phamily or need the stopwatch to pause for any other reason, you can click on the "pause" button.
