What this is
Financial Performance helps review operational farm costs and margins.
Where to find it
More → Reports → Financial Performance.
Some overview finance widgets can also open the finance view.
What it can show
Planned vs actual cost
Cost per hectare
Gross margin by paddock or crop
Input category breakdowns
Season totals
Inventory and activity cost summaries
Important note
Phase finance is for operational farm reporting. It is not tax, accounting or legal advice.
Where numbers come from
Financial Performance depends on connected Phase records, including:
Crop plan products, rates and planned costs
Inventory product prices and invoice imports
Completed activity records
Yield records and production values
Paddock areas and season filters
Crop Plan Studio gross-margin scenarios can use saved crop price, target or budget yield, and historic yield values. Budget values feed Financial Performance.
If one of those source records is missing or uses the wrong unit, the finance view can look wrong even though the calculation is working.
How to use it
Use Financial Performance to compare paddocks, crops and seasons at an operating level. It is useful for spotting high-cost paddocks, reviewing gross margin assumptions and checking whether imported prices are flowing through to plans and actuals.
For formal accounting, tax or audited financial reporting, export or reconcile the source data with your accounting system or adviser.
If numbers look wrong
Check:
Selected season
Crop or paddock filters
Product prices
GST setting
Imported invoice prices
Activity rates and units
Yield records used in margin calculations
Finance views rely on the quality of the crop plan, inventory and yield data in Phase.
If a single paddock looks wrong, open that paddock's plan and yield records first. If a whole crop looks wrong, check crop filters, product prices and whether the relevant activities are planned, completed or duplicated.
