How to create ‘gift card recipient’ emails

This is a specific type of automated email just for digital giftcards that is sent to the recipients.

When a new digital gift card is created via the Dashboard or through an online purchase, you need to have a recipient email set up so that the customer receives their card number, card expiry date and any other relevant information you might want to include. To create this email, follow the steps below:

  1. Head to ‘Marketing’ and then ‘Automated E-Mails’ and start a new email with the ‘New Automated Email’ button.

  2. Complete your desired design on the ‘Content’ page but leave room for a QR-code which will act as the actual digital Gift Card.

  3. On the right hand side, locate the 'Giftcard' button under 'Content' and drag & drop this field into your email in the desired position.

  4. Finally, under the ‘information’ tab, make sure the category of the email is listed as ‘Giftcard recipient email’ and the subscription type is ‘functional’. Now, every time a digital giftcard is generated the recipient will receive this email!

You might have also noticed the category giftcard order confirmation. This is for the sender/purchaser of the giftcard. No tags are needed for this email, just a message confirming the purchase!
