The Category Management page enables the organization of templates into logical categories. This ensures that users can quickly find the templates they need and that forms created from these templates are also organized into these categories. By categorizing templates, you can maintain a clear and intuitive structure, making it easier for users to navigate and access the templates they require.
You can navigate to the Category Management area by clicking on Settings -> Categories.
In this area, you can search your categories by name, add a new category, and see all your existing categories. You can also see some basic stats about the categories you have, including unpublished templates, published templates, archived templates, and forms sent using templates in each category.
Adding a Category
Clicking on the "Add New Category" button next to the search bar will allow you to create and customize a new category. This page allows you to modify category details, ensuring that template organization remains clear and intuitive for users.
The following fields are visible when adding a new category:
Name (Required): Give your category a clear and concise name.
Theme (Required): Set a default theme for templates created in this category. This can still be changed on a template-by-template basis but allows for a theme to be automatically set by default when setting a template as part of a category.
Description: Add a description of the category to make it easier for users to understand what the category is for and what type of templates should be added to this category.
At the bottom of the Add Category Panel, you can save or cancel the creation of the category. You can also delete the category with the bin button on the top right.
When a category is deleted, all the templates and forms assigned to it get migrated to the default category "Drafts." The default category cannot be deleted.
Clicking on an existing category will allow you to view and edit the category in the exact same way as when you created it.
