Sync Data from Nexl to Pitchly: A Comprehensive Guide

Learn how to seamlessly push data from Nexl to Pitchly for improved data consistency and streamlined content creation.

Overview

Integrating Nexl with Pitchly allows you to sync and manage data from Nexl to Pitchly, giving your team access to accurate data for content creation. Follow this guide to set up the integration so that Nexl data flows seamlessly into Pitchly.

Note: You must have Admin permissions to configure integrations.


Step 1: Start the Nexl Integration Setup

  1. In Pitchly, navigate to the Admin home view and select the Integrations tab on the left sidebar.

  2. In the Integrations Marketplace, locate the Nexl tile and click Connect.


Step 2: Authenticate with Nexl

Note: This step only needs to be completed once per Pitchly account. If you have already completed this step, you can skip to Step 3.

  1. A new pop-up window will appear, prompting you to select your Nexl account from a dropdown, or authenticate with a new one.

  2. To authenticate with a new account, select Connect Account from the dropdown.

  3. In the new window, enter your Nexl GraphQL URL and your Nexl API Key, and click Next.

  4. After authentication, you’ll be returned to the integration setup within Pitchly.

Important: The necessary authentication credentials must be obtained by an administrator within your Nexl account. Ensure that the user associated with the API token has the required permissions for all data you wish to sync with Pitchly.

If you'd prefer your Nexl administrator to handle the authentication:

  • They can log into Pitchly and complete Steps 1 and 2 of this guide.

  • After clicking Next, they can exit the setup process.

  • You will then be able to select the authorized Nexl account from the dropdown menu during your integration setup.


Step 3: Select the Source Table in Nexl

Now that you’re authenticated, identify the specific Table within Nexl that you wish to sync to Pitchly. This could be Tables like Companies, Contacts, Users, and Opportunities.

  1. Select Source Object: Choose the Nexl object containing the data you want to integrate with Pitchly.

  2. Create separate automations for each object you wish to sync data from.

Step 4: Set the Destination Workspace and Table in Pitchly

Define where the Nexl data will reside in Pitchly:

  1. In the Configure Destination screen, select Pitchly under Choose Service.

  2. Select your current Pitchly user & account from the dropdown, or click Connect Account if no connection has been made yet.

  3. Select Workspace: From the dropdown menu, select the Pitchly workspace where your Nexl data should appear. Only users with access to this workspace will be able to view and manage the synced data.

  4. Select Table: Choose the specific table within the selected workspace to store your Nexl data. Ensure that this table is ready with the required fields to receive the incoming data.

  5. Select Match by Field: Select a unique identifier such as a system or autogenerated ID to match records between Nexl and Pitchly. When a record matches an existing record on this field, the record will be updated and a new record will not be created.


Step 5: Map Fields

Map Nexl fields to corresponding fields in Pitchly for seamless data transfer:

  1. Field Mapping: Match each Nexl field (left column) with the appropriate Pitchly field (right column) to ensure accurate data syncing. Confirm that data types (e.g., text, date) align between both platforms.

  2. Custom Field Mapping: If you are syncing custom fields from Nexl, ensure these fields exist and are correctly mapped in the Pitchly table.

  3. Click Finish when you are done mapping fields.


Step 6: Turn On the Integration

  1. You will now be prompted to Turn On the automation.

  2. Click Turn On to start the automation immediately.

  3. Click Not Now to save your setup and turn it on at another time.

Tip: Pitchly automations default to a five-minute sync interval. To adjust this interval, refer to the Pitchly Automation Run Intervals guide.


Managing Your Nexl Integration

After setup, the Nexl integration will run based on the selected configurations. If you need to make changes, you can adjust settings by returning to the Integrations tab and select Automations across the top. Locate the appropriate automation you'd like to modify, select the three dots on the right, and click Modify.


Troubleshooting

If you experience issues with the integration, try the following:

  • Confirm that your Nexl account has appropriate permissions for data sharing.

  • Verify that all required fields in Pitchly are mapped to Nexl data fields.

  • Check the unique identifier configuration to ensure accurate syncing.
