How to Use Rich Text in Pitchly Elements

Enhance Your Content with Rich Text Formatting in Pitchly

Overview

Rich text is a powerful feature within Pitchly Elements, allowing users to insert and format both static and dynamic text with various styling options. This feature enables you to add content that pulls directly from your Pitchly database, while customizing formatting, alignment, hyperlinks, and lists.

Use the following steps to create and customize a rich text field in your Pitchly Elements template.

Creating a Rich Text Field

  1. Insert a Rich Text Box

    • On the left-hand side of your Elements workspace, hover over the icons and look for the paragraph-style icon labeled Insert Rich Text.

    • Click the icon to insert a text box in the middle of your page.

  2. Adjust the Position

    • Use the available controls to center horizontally or vertically.

    • Arrange the text box by bringing it forward or backward in the layer stack.

Editing and Formatting Text

  1. Enter the Rich Text Editor

    • Click on the text box and select Edit Text.

    • The Rich Text Editor toolbar will appear with formatting options.

  2. Apply Text Formatting

    • Bold, Italics, and Underline: Click the respective icons to apply styling.

    • Font and Size: Choose from a list of available fonts and adjust the size.

    • Font Colors: Select from preset colors, a color picker, or enter custom HEX, HSL, or RGB values.

    • Text Alignment: Align text to the left, center, or right.

Inserting Dynamic Text from the Database

  1. Select Dynamic Text Input

    • On the right-hand side of the Rich Text Editor, locate the T with a red lightning bolt icon.

    • Click on it to see a dropdown of all available database fields.

  2. Insert a Dynamic Field

    • Select a field (e.g., Deal Overview).

    • The inserted text will appear in light blue, indicating it is dynamic and linked to your database.

Creating Lists & Bullet Points

  1. Standard Bullet & Numbered Lists

    • Type out a list with each item on a separate line.

    • Highlight the text and click the bullet point or numbered list icons.

  2. Indented Bullet Points

    • Press the Tab key to create an indented list, just like in a word processor.

  3. Convert Multi-Line Text into Bullets

    • If a multi-line text field (e.g., Client Description) is pulled from the database:

      • Highlight the dynamic text.

      • Click the bullet point or numbered list icons.

    • The system will convert each line into a separate bullet point.

    • To create nested bullets, add four spaces at the start of a line in the database record.

Adding Hyperlinks

  1. Insert a Static URL

    • Highlight static text in the editor.

    • Click the hyperlink icon and enter the desired URL. Note, enter the full URL for the best results.

    • Click Save to apply the link.

  2. Hyperlink Dynamic Text

    • Click the hyperlink icon and enter the URL.

    • Click Save to create a clickable link.
