How to embed hyperlinks stored in a table within Word documents using the Proposals app
Live hyperlinks can be exported to Word documents using the Proposals app. To do so, use either option listed below.
1. | Use a URL stored in a table to hyperlink text stored in a table.
This method requires two text fields. One field to store the text you wish to display in the document and one field to store the URL for the hyperlink.
{~~ HYPERLINK_TEXT | hyperlink: HYPERLINK_URL }
Table fields:
Word export: |
2. | Use a URL stored in a table to hyperlink to text in a Word document.
This method requires one text field to store the URL. Enclose the text you would like to hyperlink within the syntax as displayed in the below example.
{~~ “This text will be linked” | hyperlink: URL_FIELD_NAME }
Table field:
Word export: |
Please note: Hyperlink syntax will only work if the syntax is on its own line within the Word template. If other syntax is entered on the same line, the hyperlink will not render properly.
Once your syntax is complete, open the Proposals app via the apps side panel and add your saved template by either dragging and dropping it into the New Template box, or clicking on the box itself to add the file.
After selecting a record from your table, navigate to the Proposals app panel and export using the template of your choice.
