How to customize the data points that display when searching and assigning references
The ability to view and search multiple data points provides helpful context when searching for the correct reference to assign to a record. Up to three fields can be viewed and searched. While one field must always be the primary key, the other two are customizable based on your preference and use case.
Permission level: To adjust the fields within view, users are required to edit the table. To reorder fields in a table, you need Admin-level account permissions.
Accepted Secondary Fields
While Pitchly offers a wide array of field types, only certain types are available to display contextual sub-data. The system will look for the first three accepted field types and skip any unsupported field types.

Reordering Fields
Because the system looks for the first three accepted field types, it is recommended to place the desired secondary fields at or near the beginning of the table. To change the order of secondary fields:
Go to the referenced table.
Click the down arrow next to the table name.
Select Edit table.
On the left panel, you can rearrange the field order for all users.
Drag and drop the secondary fields to the desired position using the icon next to the field name.
Click Update.
Note: The primary key will always appear first in search results, regardless of its position in the list. The system will skip any non-supported field types if they are positioned before a supported field type.
Using Secondary Fields
When you search using a reference field (either single or multiple):
Start typing values that match either the primary key or a secondary field in the referenced table.
You will see three fields in the search results:
Primary Key: The main identifier.
First Two Secondary Fields: Additional information about the reference.
Seeing additional fields can help you confirm your selections. For example, if the primary key is the company name, you would also see the company's identification number and descriptive name, shown below.
Please note: If search results show empty values after the primary key, check the referenced record. It likely means that the secondary fields in that record are not filled out, which is why they aren’t displaying.
