Macabacus + Pitchly Integration: FAQs and Troubleshooting Guide

How to use key features and understand limitations inside the Macabacus + Pitchly integration

This guide is intended for users with access to Pitchly content in the Macbacus PowerPoint Add-In. To begin, install Macabacus using this link, then configure the integration inside Pitchly using this guide.

What does the Reset button do?

The Reset button in the Library Manager’s Pitchly view clears previously retrieved content group definitions. This is useful in rare cases when the Library Pane fails to load Pitchly content or appears out of sync. Additionally, the rest button should be used on first use of the new Pitchly integration to clean initialization and avoids conflicts with old content.

Macabacus will auto-trigger a reset when it detects that table or template definitions have changed. This check occurs when the user applies a new filter.

Are Pitchly filters saved?

Yes. Pitchly filter values are saved during your PowerPoint session and automatically reloaded when PowerPoint is reopened.

What is the Saved Filters feature?

Located at the bottom of the filter fields, this feature lets users save frequently used filter combinations, reducing retyping.

Which Pitchly field types are unsupported?

The following field types cannot be used for filtering and will not display in the Zoom/Preview window in Macabacus:

  • Attachment

  • Reference Multiple

  • Dropdown Multiple

What happens if a Reference field links to a table the user cannot access?

The field will be ignored and not displayed in Macabacus.

Can I use the search box to filter Pitchly content?

No. The global Library Pane search box does not affect Pitchly content.

How do I filter Pitchly content?

Use the filter fields within each content group. These are the only filters that apply to Pitchly items.

Does Pitchly content work with Library Version Control?

No. Pitchly content:

  • Does not have version numbers

  • Is not tracked by the Library Versioning Pane (found via Library > Vision Control...)
