Subscriptions let you automate recurring payments from members, so you can spend less time chasing fees and more time running your club. Whether it’s monthly training fees, term-based programs, or annual memberships, PLAI handles billing, reminders, and tracking for you.
What You Can Do With Subscriptions
Set up recurring payments for memberships, training, or programs
Choose monthly, termly, or custom billing cycles
Assign subscriptions to specific groups
Track who’s active, paid, or overdue in real time
Send automatic payment reminders and receipts
💡 PLAI Tip: Set up subscriptions at the start of a new season or term to keep your income predictable and reduce admin. You can also run multiple subscriptions simultaneously (e.g., one for training, one for match fees).
How to Set Up a Subscription
Go to the Shop tab in your admin dashboard
Click + Add Product
Fill in the details:
Name: e.g., U12 Monthly Fees
Description: e.g., Juniors
Item Price: amount to charge
Visible to: select the group(s)
Category: Subscriptions
Add Image (optional)
Payment Options: select Subscription
Subscription Frequency: Weekly, Monthly, Bimonthly, Quarterly, Half-Yearly, or Yearly
Click Save
Members in the selected group(s) will receive an email to subscribe and pay.
What Members See
Once assigned, members will:
Get a notification to set up their payment method
Be charged automatically based on the schedule you set
Receive reminders before payments are due
See all subscription activity and payments in the app:
Go to Home
Click Wallet (top right)
Select My Purchases
View subscriptions and payments
⚠️ Important PLAI Note on Subscriptions
Unlike instalment plans, subscriptions in PLAI don’t have a total payment limit and will continue to renew until they are paused or cancelled.
Subscriptions work like Spotify or Netflix:
Payments auto-renew on the chosen schedule
There is no end date or payment cap
Charges will continue until the subscription is PAUSED or CANCELLED in the PLAI app
👉 Best practice:
Use subscriptions for ongoing monthly fees
Use instalment-based shop items for fixed seasonal or one-off amounts
Pause or cancel subscriptions once the full season fees have been collected
