Understanding Club Articles

Learn how the Articles feed works on your club's Comms tab, including pinned posts, search, filters, and who can create or manage articles.

Every club on PLAI has an Articles feed where admins share news and updates and members catch up on what is happening.

Where to find Articles

Open your club and tap Comms. You will land on the Articles sub-tab by default, next to Chats.

Note: The Chats sub-tab shows a small number badge when you have unread messages. Articles and Chats load independently, so switching between them does not lose your place in either one.

Club Pins and Latest Articles

The feed is organised into two sections:

  • Club Pins. Admins can pin up to 5 articles here, regardless of when they were published. Pinned articles stay in Club Pins and still appear in their normal chronological position in Latest Articles.

  • Latest Articles. Every published article, newest first. Each card shows a cover image, the publish date, the title, a short preview of the text, and the current reaction and comment counts.

If a club has not published any articles yet, you will see a message inviting you to check back later. Admins see a prompt to create the first one instead.

Searching for an article

Tap the search bar at the top of Articles and type at least 3 characters. Results update as you type and match against the article title only, not the body text. Tap the x to clear your search and return to the full feed.

Tip: Club Pins are hidden while you are searching so you are not comparing pinned posts against your search results. They come back as soon as you clear the search.

Filtering and sorting

Tap the filter icon next to the search bar to open the Filter & Sort sheet. From there you can sort articles or narrow the feed by group, section, or a date range (last month, last quarter, last year, or a custom range). Tap Apply Filters to update the feed, or Clear All to reset everything back to default. When a filter is active, the filter icon shows a small indicator so you know something is applied.

What members can do

Members can read, react to, and comment on published articles. Reaction and comment counts refresh the next time the feed loads.

What admins can do

Admins see two extra options in the floating action bar at the bottom of the screen:

  • Drafts. Opens articles that have been started but not published yet. Drafts are never visible to members.

  • + Create an Article. Starts a new article.

Admins can also schedule an article for a future date. Scheduled articles show up in the admin's own feed with their scheduled date, but members will not see them until they actually go live.

FAQ

Why can't I create an article?

Only club admins can create, schedule, or pin articles. If you are a member, you can read, react to, and comment on articles, but the Drafts and Create an Article options will not appear on your screen.

Why did a pinned article disappear from Club Pins?

Club Pins only shows during normal browsing. If you are actively searching, Club Pins is hidden until you clear the search, but the article is still pinned and will reappear.
