Meal Plans are defined in these settings.
These are then used on the Guests screen to select the package a guest has. Your guests will also be able to open a meal plan voucher on their mobile itinerary to review the meal plan or show your restaurant staff. On the Guests screen there is also an option to print a business-card-size voucher that the guest can show to the restaurant or other operator providing services in the package.
Managing meal plans/packages
"Room Only" is the default plan. Your account comes with a few other sample packages that are set up to show you some different possibilities.
You can create additional plans and deactivate the sample plans provided with your account.
Meal Plan Name
The meal plan name is what you call it for the guest. It could be a name like "Room Only" or "Standard Plan" if the room does not include any meals. You could also have a "Breakfast Plan" or "Full Board" or "Unlimited" plan. You can type any name you'd like.
Edit meal plan tool
Clicking the edit icon next to the plan name will allow you to change more details and apply important settings. This will open a new window.
Toggles to activate
• Active
The "Active" toggle may be on by default. If you deactivate it and save, the meal plan will no longer show on this list. If you want to see it again, click the button on the top of the screen that says "Show All."
• Offers Website
Turning this on will include this meal plan on your Online Offers/Upsell page. Remember that you would need to adjust the settings for this by clicking the edit tool next to the Meal Plan Name on the left.
• Cloudbeds Add-On
This indicates that you have a matching meal plan that you are selling on Cloudbeds. Be sure to adjust the settings for this using the edit tool to the left of the Meal Plan Name.
• On Guest Itinerary
This allows you to choose whether you show or hide the meal plan from a guest's itinerary. For example, you may wish to not use meal plans or to leave the "Room Only" plan off the itinerary.
Color code
A meal plan icon will show on the guest itinerary. You can apply a unique color to this to help distinguish between your meal plans.

Photo
A clear, colorful photo representing this meal plan will help sell it.

When you click the edit tool next to the Meal Plan Name, a new window will open and give you some more settings to complete.

Cloudbeds Add-On Settings
These settings will connect the meal plans you sell on Cloudbeds with those you have set up on Planniac.
Meal Plan Name ⚠️This is critical ⚠️
The name you use here needs to be an exact match to the name you have given your meal plan add-on in Cloudbeds. Capitalization and punctuation matter. The easiest way to ensure your exact match is to copy the add-on name from Cloudbeds and then paste it into Planniac.Task to Create
You may wish to create an internal task when a Cloudbeds meal plan is purchased as an add-on. The task would be set up in Resources.

Itinerary Notes
Use these notes to give specific messages to your guest, before and during their stay. There are also notes you can provide to staff who use Planniac's Restaurant Report or Kitchen Report.
Note before active on check-in day
The guest will see this note on the mobile itinerary. You can use it to remind them that the plan is only activated upon check-in.
Note once plan is active
This note should confirm to the guest (and/or staff who may see the itinerary) that the plan is active.
Note prior to check-in day
This informs the guest that the plan will be active on check-in day.
Internal note (not seen by guest)
This will only appear on the restaurant mobile report. It gives staff a way to look up a guest's meal plan in case they do not have the printed card or mobile itinerary on hand.
Printed Meal Plan Card
Actually, this refers to not only the printed card but also the mobile itinerary. The Front and Back sections are also the live descriptions on the guests' itinerary.
Text on front of meal plan card
On the Guests screen, you have the option to print a business-card sized meal card. This can be trimmed and folded to have a front and back. (Some resorts will laminate them with business card laminating pouches). The text you include on the front of the card will appear along with the guest's name, dates of stay and meal plan name.
This text is limited to 6 lines of text with up to 50 characters per line
Text on back of meal plan card
You may choose to use the back of the card for
additional meal plan information
additional inclusions (such as free bicycles or pool towels)
Upselling content
💡🧰✨Pro tip: You can use the "back" space on the meal plan card to cross-promote other services of the hotel.
Meal Plans are different than Pack Meals.
Meal Plans
This means things like "Breakfast Included" or "Half Board" or "Full Board" or "All Inclusive." This article covers that.
Pack Meals are food that's provided along with another activity that you need to organize. For example, "Tour Lunch" or "Picnic Basket".
