Entering Furniture Mode

To begin editing furniture, go into furniture mode clicking the 'Furniture' button or by clicking the 'F' key.

Select furniture

To select an individual furniture unit click on the desired furniture.
To select multiple furniture units, do one of the following:

  • Click and drag a box around all of the furniture units you'd like to select. Make sure to drag the box fully around the entire furniture unit or else the furniture unit will not be selected.

  • Hold down the shift key / control (for PCs) / command keys (for Mac) and then individually click on each furniture unit you'd like to select.

Move furniture

To move furniture, select the desired furniture unit/s and drag to the desired location. You can only move furniture within a space.

To slightly adjust furniture within spaces, select desired furniture unit and use arrow keys to "micro nudge" or hold down shift + arrow keys to "macro nudge" selected item.

Copy furniture

You can copy any furniture unit/s within a space or from one space to another within your test fit. To do this:

  • Select the furniture unit/s you'd like to copy then press 'ctrl (PC) + C' or 'Command (Mac) +C' to copy

Paste furniture

  • Place your mouse onto the area where you would like to paste the furniture unit/s and make sure the mouse sits where you'd like the center point of your furniture to sit and if the furniture unit/s are wallbound (they sit on a wall), place your mouse next to the desired wall where you'd like the furniture unit/s to be placed

  • Press 'ctrl (PC) + V' or 'Command (Mac) +V' to paste

If you paste furniture unit/s into a space where the center point of any of the furniture unit/s in your selection sits outside of the space, you will notice that those furniture unit/s will not be pasted and will disappear. To avoid this, either move your mouse to the center of the space to ensure the center point of your selection is correct or increase the size of the space.

Duplicate furniture

To duplicate furniture unit/s, simply click on the selected furniture, press the 'option' button, then drag the furniture while holding down 'option.' Finally, release the furniture.

Rotate furniture

To rotate furniture, select the desired furniture unit/s and you will see a toggle appear. Click on the toggle and you will be able to rotate the furniture unit/s.

Delete furniture

To delete furniture, select the desired furniture unit/s and press delete.

Furniture margins

When you are in furniture mode, you will see a dotted line around all furniture units. This indicates the recommended area to leave clear around the furniture to ensure there is ample room for people to walk through rooms, pull out chairs, and open doors. When the dotted line is red, this indicates that this area is overlapping another element (e.g. another furniture unit, a wall, circulation, a door, etc.)

Flipping Furniture

To flip furniture, select desired furniture then select "Flip Orientation" from right hand panel. If the piece of furniture can not be flipped, "Flip Orientation" will not appear when furniture is selected.

Snapping Furniture

When selected furniture in an area is moved, margin lines will appear and furniture will snap to align with other objects in space (i.e. desks, doors, tables ect.). When "snap" featured is off and furniture is selected, margin lines will not appear and furniture can be placed freely in the specific area it is located.
