Overview
You can add a passkey to your Plasma One account for an extra layer of security.
Adding a passkey is optional. It's currently available to verified users (KYC-approved) only.
What is a passkey?
A passkey is a sign-in credential saved on your device and unlocked with your Face ID, Touch ID or device passcode. It works alongside the method you already use to sign in (Apple, Google or email), so anyone trying to access your account needs both.
Your passkey is saved in iCloud Keychain, Google Password Manager or another password manager you use. It appears there under the name Plasma One.
How do I add a passkey?
You need to have completed identity verification before you can add a passkey.
Open the app and go to Settings
Tap Security
Tap Create a passkey
Confirm with Face ID, Touch ID or your device passcode
Choose where to save your passkey, for example iCloud Keychain or your password manager
Once saved, your passkey is active straight away.
When will I be asked for my passkey?
After you add a passkey, you'll be asked to confirm with it when you:
Sign in or open the app
Send money
Move money into or out of Earn
Withdraw to a bank account
Once you've confirmed with your passkey, you won't be asked again for 7 days.
Can I add more than one passkey?
You can add one passkey per account at the moment but we are looking to expand this soon.
If you get a new phone, make sure your passkey is saved in a password manager that syncs to the new device. A passkey saved on an iPhone won't transfer to an Android phone.
Can I remove my passkey?
Yes, you can remove your passkey in Settings → Security. You'll need to confirm with your current passkey first.
⚠️ Important: Always remove your passkey in the Plasma One app first. If you delete it from your phone or password manager instead, you won't be able to sign in until you reset it.
What if I can't access my passkey?
If you lost your phone, replaced it, or deleted your passkey, you can reset it from the sign-in screen or reach out to our customer support.
