Hello!
We’ve prepared a new simple and visual dashboard, to help you track your class's learning progress – you’ll quickly know what has been done, what still needs to be done, and how your class is performing overall.
Metrics for Classes, Challenges and Projects
To access this dashboard, start by selecting a class and clicking on Options... Then, click on Class metrics and a window will open with a dashboard where you can view this information.
The dashboard is divided into three main learning areas: Lessons, Challenges, and Projects. For each of these, you’ll find metrics that help you track the class’s progress and adapt your teaching to the needs of each student.
Lessons
Lessons started: Number of lessons in which students started at least one resource.
Lessons completed at 80%: Number of lessons where, on average, students completed 80% of the resources.
Lessons completed at 100%: Number of lessons in which students completed all resources.
Average progress: Average percentage of completion for the lessons started.
Challenges
Challenges started: Number of challenges in which students started at least one resource.
Challenges completed at 80%: Number of challenges where, on average, students completed 80% of the resources.
Challenges completed at 100%: Number of challenges in which students completed all resources.
Average progress: Average percentage of completion for the challenges started.
Projects
Projects created: Number of projects created by students on the platform.
Projects published: Number of projects created and publicly visible on the platform.
Views: Number of views of published projects.
Likes: Number of likes received on published projects.
Important Note:
The distinction between 80% and 100% gives visibility to students who are very close to finishing a lesson or a challenge, even if they haven't completed every single resource yet. This helps teachers quickly identify which students are nearly done and which may need additional support.
A lesson is only marked as completed at 100% when all students in the class have finished it. This section gives a clearer idea of the class's overall progress.
General Progress
This dashboard helps track student performance in Lessons, Challenges, and Projects, offering a clear view of overall class progress. The key indicators to assess students' general progress are the score, number of lessons completed, and resource completion percentage.
Lessons
Score: Number of stars earned for completing resources.
Lessons started: Number of lessons in which students started at least one resource.
Lessons completed: Number of lessons in which students completed all resources.
Average progress: Average percentage of completion for lessons started.
Resources started: Number of resources started by students within a lesson.
Resources completed: Number of resources completed by students within a lesson.
% Resources completed: Percentage of resources completed by students within a lesson.
Challenges
Score: Number of stars earned for completing resources.
Challenges started: Number of challenges in which students started at least one resource.
Challenges completed: Number of challenges in which students completed all resources.
Average progress: Average percentage of completion for the challenges started.
Resources started: Number of resources started by students within a challenges.
Resources completed: Number of resources completed by students within a challenge.
% Resources completed: Percentage of resources completed by students within a challenge.
Projects
Projects created: Number of projects created by students on the platform.
Projects published: Number of projects created that are publicly visible on the platform.
Views: Number of views of published projects.
Likes: Number of likes received on published projects.
Clones: Number of projects created from published projects.
Additionally, data can be filtered by level, allowing for a customized and detailed view of the data based on the different levels available in ubbu.
Progress per lesson
In this dashboard teachers can follow student's progress per lesson.
Color coding for lessons
To make it easier to read and understand student progress, we use a color system to indicate the status of each lesson:
🟡 Yellow – Lesson completed: The student finished the lesson.
🔵 Dark blue – Lesson started but not completed: The student started the lesson but didn’t finish it.
⚪ Light blue – Lesson not started: The student hasn’t started the lesson yet.
This color system follows the same logic used in the ubbu progress map and helps teachers easily identify which students have completed the lesson, might need some extra support or haven´t yet started.
Download Results
Teachers can also download results by clicking the Download results (.xlsx) button. A file with the class name will be generated, compatible with Excel, Numbers, Google Sheets, or OpenOffice.
Important Note:
Lessons follow a progressive sequence and are shown in sets of 5.
In the table, you'll only see lessons 1, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 but each dot represents an individual lesson and its color indicates its progress status.
To know if a lesson was started, not started or finished just count the number of dots.
Progress by resources
Here you can also track the progresss of students per resource.
In this dashboard, teachers can view the number of resources started, not started, completed, and the score students have obtained.
Color coding for resources
To make it easier to read and understand student progress, we use a color system to indicate the status of each resource:
⚪ White – Resource not started
🔵 Dark blue – Exercise completed
🟣 Dark purple – Video watched entirely
⚫ Black – Gallery marked as completed
🟡 ✓ Yellow – Quiz completed and correct
🟡 ❌ Yellow – Quiz completed, but incorrect
You can also filter the data by lesson and by level. The visualisation can be adjusted to the different lessons and levels available at ubbu, allowing for a more personalized and detailed view.
Challenges
Challenges are a great way for students to apply the knowledge acquired in Lessons and Projects. In this dashboard, teachers can track the number of challenges started, completed, and the score students have earned.
The dashboard also allows filtering challenges by categories relevant to a specific theme, such as:
Computer Science
Sustainable Development
STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics)
Offline Challenges
Gym
With this functionality, teachers can quickly identify the most aligned challenges with the class's learning goals and take some conclusions about:
Challenges students haven't tried – For introducing new concepts and themes.
Most known challenges – For reinforcing already-learned concepts.
Challenges as homework – To reinforce learning outside the classroom.
Challenges as extra activities – For students who finish early or need additional challenges.
These options provide teachers with the tools to monitor student progress and tailor their challenge choices based on the class's needs.
How to Use This Information in Your Teaching?
The new progress dashboard was designed to help teachers clearly track their students’ journey through Lessons, Challenges, and Projects.
With a visual and intuitive data presentation, you can see what has been done, what remains to be done, and how engaged your class has been.
This information can serve as a starting point for adjusting strategies, planning review sessions, or proposing extra challenges based on the pace and needs of your class.
