Lesson plans are an essential tool for preparing an ubbu lesson. In it, you can see a summary of the topics covered in each lesson, as well as relevant learning concepts and themes.

We'll explain what each section will tell you:

  1. Summary - A short summary of what the class consists of.

  2. Objetives - List of learnings that the student will have gained by completing the lesson.

  3. Computer Science concepts - Concepts from the K-12 Computer Science Framework, created by a consortium of international organizations with the goal of standardizing the teaching of Computer Science and stipulating a group of essential concepts and practices for the discipline. In this section you can see the concepts of the framework present in class.

  4. STEAM - Acronym that stands for science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics. In this section you will find the subjects from this group that will be covered in class.

  5. UN Sustainable Development Goals - A collection of seventeen interconnected goals designed to serve as a "common blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and planet, now and in the future" by the United Nations. The goals present in class will appear in this section.

  6. Skills - Divided between computational thinking and cognitive-motor skills, these concepts help you understand what learning will be achieved by the student upon completing the lesson.

  7. Lesson activities - A table where you'll find a list of lesson resources, as well as the types of resource, estimated duration and short descriptions. You can also click on the resource to access instructions and solutions. This table allows you to see how long the lesson will take and how you can distribute the different moments to get the most out of each resource.

  8. Glossary - Definition of terms that may be relevant to the lesson topic.

By checking the lesson plan before teaching or accompanying an ubbu class, you'll be better prepared and ready to support kids along their ubbu journey. All the elements mentioned are clickable, so you can learn more about each one.
