[Plugzio Artemis] Wi-Fi Commissioning Guide

This guide explains how to commission and provision Plugzio Artemis devices by configuring a laptop, connecting via Ethernet, setting up Wi-Fi or cellular, and verifying connectivity to ensure successful integration with the Plugzio OCPP network.

1.0 INTRODUCTION

This document will guide you on how to commission and connect Plugzio Artemis devices to the Plugzio OCPP network. The charger is only fully commissioned once you have completed all the steps in this document.

3.0 REQUIREMENTS

3.1 Tools & Infrastructure

  • Laptop computer (Windows or Mac)

  • RJ45 Ethernet cable

  • RJ45 Ethernet adapter dongle (if laptop does not have connector)

  • Plugzio Artemis Device & Tools to open the device

    • Refer to Artemis installation manual

  • Ability to provide 208 or 240V AC to the Artemis device during commissioning

  • Internet connection (Cellular, Wi-Fi, or Ethernet)

  • Phillips PH2 screwdriver

  • Slotted head screwdriver

  • Voltmeter or digital multimeter (for measuring AC voltage at the installation site)

4.0 CONFIGURING YOUR LAPTOP

4.1 Windows 10

1. Your laptop’s IP address will need to be configured before connecting to the Artemis device(s).

2. If you are using an external ethernet adapter (dongle), plug it in first.

3. Configure Windows laptop by clicking the Windows Start Menu Icon and clicking on “Settings”.

4. Next, click on “Network & Internet“.

5. Select the “Ethernet” option from the left menu.

6. Select the “Change adapter options”.

7. Right-click on your active connection in the next (Network Connections) window, then select “Properties.”

8. Click on “Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)”, then click on the “Properties button”.

9. Select “Use the following IP address” and enter the following information below.

IP Address:

192.168.88.6

Subnet Mask:

255.255.255.0

Default Gateway:

192.168.88.206

Preferred DNS Server:

Blank

Alternate DNS Server:

Blank

10. Select “OK” to save changes and close the Internet Protocol dialog and select “OK” again to close the Ethernet Properties dialog.

11. Proceed to the Provisioning Steps section. Note that after the installation and provisioning of all devices, this change can be undone by selecting the “Obtain an IP address automatically” option in step 9.

4.2 Windows 11

1. Your laptop’s IP address will need to be configured before connecting to the Artemis device(s).

2. If you are using an external ethernet adapter (dongle), plug it in first.

3. Configure Windows laptop by clicking the Windows Start Menu Icon and clicking on “Settings”.

4. On the left navigation bar, click on “Network & Internet”

5. On the right side of the screen, click “Ethernet”

6. Expand the ethernet tab if needed and then scroll down and locate “IP assignment”

7. Click the “Edit” button on the “IP assignment”

8. On the popup click the drop-down list and select “Manual”

9. Toggle on the “IPv4” option and enter the following information below.

10. Hit “Save” to apply the settings

11. Proceed to the Provisioning Steps section.

Note that after the installation and provisioning of all devices, this change can be undone by selecting the “Automatic” option in step 8.

4.3 Mac

1. Your laptop’s IP address will need to be configured before connecting to the Zerova device(s).

2. If you are using an external ethernet adapter (dongle), plug it in first.

3. Configure Mac laptop by opening the search bar by using “Command” + “Space”.

4. Look up “Ethernet ID”

5. Open click the “TCP/IP” tab and enter the following information:

Configure IPv4:

Manually

IP Address:

192.168.88.6

Subnet Mask:

255.255.255.0

6. Select “OK” to save your settings.

7. Proceed to the Provisioning Steps section.

Note that after the installation and provisioning of all devices, this change can be undone by setting the “Configure IPv4” option from “Manually” to “Using DHCP” in step 5.

5.0 PROVISIONING STEPS

5.1 Connecting to The Unit

1. To connect to the Artemis unit, you will need to connect an RJ45 (ethernet) cable to the charger and to your laptop. Ensure your laptop has been configured in the previous section before proceeding.

2. Insert the key into the bottom of the charger and use it to open the decorative cover of the charger.

3. Remove the 9 screws connecting the front cover and the rear cover, then open the front cover.

4. Insert the network cable into the Ethernet cable port and install the SIM card (if applicable)

5. Wire up the Artemis according to the installation manual and power on the Artemis device from the breaker.

6. Wait for the LED on the charging holster to start blinking green.

7. Connect your laptop with the ethernet cable.

8. On your laptop, open a browser and enter the IP address 192.168.8.206 in the address bar.

9. If you see a warning that your connection is not private, click the “Advanced” or “Show Details” button depending on your browser.

10. Select “Proceed to 192.168.88.206” or “visit this website” followed by the “Visit Website” confirmation depending on your browser to get redirected to the login page.

11. To log in, use the following credentials:

Account:

Admin or admin

Password:

Pzio123!

12. Proceed to the next section to continue configuring the Artemis device.

5.2 Configure Wi-Fi & Cellular Settings

1. Once logged in, on the left navigation bar, expand the “System Configuration” section.

2. Select the “Network Configuration” tab

3. Click the pencil icon on the “Wi-Fi Configuration” title to configure Wi-Fi parameters

4. Save your settings and the device should automatically connect to the configured network

6.0 Check Connectivity

1. Devices should connect to the Configured Wi-Fi network automatically if the network is available.

2. On the top right of the screen, there are 2 connectivity icons

3. Verify that these 2 icons are not crossed out or have an “x” on them
