This guide provides step-by-step instructions on how to set up a Conditional Payment Plan. By following these instructions, you will be able to create a personalized payment plan and set prices based on the duration of a session or specific calendar days, weekdays, or times of day. If you are looking for a flexible and customizable payment plan, this guide can be the starting point.

1. Click "Payment Plans" on the right sidebar of your dashboard

2. Click "CREATE PLAN"

3. Click "Conditional Plan"

4. Choose a name for your payment plan in "Description"

5. Choose the wallet you wish to assign to this payment plan

6. Select your time zone

7. Click "NEXT"

8. Choose the default/base rate for your payment plan. (please note that in case none of the conditions you will add to this plan can not be applied to the user's session, this is the default rate they will be charged based on)

9. Disable the device (i.e. No users can activate the device)

Check the box if: you wish to terminate the user's session (disable the device) if none of the conditions you will assign to this plan is applicable.

Uncheck the box if: you do not want to terminate the user's session and prefer to charge them with a different rate (the default/base rate) if the conditions are not applicable to their session.

10. Click "NEXT"

11. Check this box "I have made sure it is legal to charge and re-sell electricity in my jurisdiction" to continue as different states proceed with different regulations regarding charging/re-selling electricity and you would need to acknowledge that your payment plan aligns with those regulations.

12. Click "ADD NEW CONDITIONAL RULE" to add a condition to your plan

13. Duration: where you can charge the user based on how long their session lasts.

For instance:

  • Set your rate for sessions shorter than X hours

  • Set your rate for sessions between X to Y hours

  • Set your rate for sessions longer than Y hours

14. Consumption: where you can charge the user based on how much electricity they use during their session.

For instance:

  • Set your rate for sessions that consume less than X kWh

  • Set your rate for sessions that consume electricity between X kWh to Y kWh

  • Set your rate for sessions that consume more than Y kWh

15. Time-based Conditions: where you can charge the user based on:

  1. Calendar Days

  2. Weekdays

  3. Time of Day

16. Time-based Conditions Options

  1. Calendar Days: Apply different rates based on the date range within the calendar. (i.g. set your specific rate for sessions between the 1st of January to 31st of January)

  2. Weekday: Apply different rates based on the days of the week. (i.g. set a different rate for sessions between Saturday and Sunday than the sessions that get activated during the rest of the week)

  3. Time of Day: Apply different rates based on the time duration within 24 hours of the day. (i.g. set a different rate for sessions between 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. then the sessions that get activated between 5 p.m. to 9 a.m.

17. Once you added all the conditions to your payment plan, click "CONFIRM" to create it in your Payment Plan panel.

Important Note: Please be advised that in case of 2 or more conditions in your payment plan, the priority for charging the user is from the first condition that you created (number 1 in the below screenshot/the payment plan on the top)
