For WiFi installations, we can supply you with a Plugzio Extender that is pre-configured with a network that the Plugzio device automatically connects to upon power on. This significantly reduces the amount of work required after installation to connect Plugzio devices to a WiFi network.

We use TP-link outdoor extenders (Access Point), here is what's included in the box:

  • Two Antennas

  • Outdoor Rated Extender

  • Mounting kit

  • POE adapter/injector

  • Quick installation guide

Note: Cat5 cable is NOT included in the box. The installer needs to provide the cat5 cable at a length required for the specific installation.

The POE adapter provides the extender with power and internet connectivity via Cat5/6 cables.

  • POE port connects to the Extender via Cat5/6 cable

  • LAN port connects to the internet via Cat5/6 cable

Note: Make sure to use Cat6 cable for longer runs

Note: You cannot use any other POE switch to power on the Extender. The POE adapter that comes with the device (picture above) is the only way to power the extender.

For optimal performance, Ethernet cable connected to the device should not exceed 330 feet (100 m).

For longer runs, you can use a Plugzio Switch to extend the length of the cable. Learn more: What is included with the Plugzio Switch?
