1. Stop the Session via the Manufacturer’s App (e.g., Tesla App)
If the above steps did not help unlocking the connector, attempt to stop the charging session using your EV manufacturer’s app. For example, Tesla owners can stop the session by selecting ‘Stop Charging’ in the Tesla app.
2. Refer to Model-Specific Information
Still having trouble unlocking the connector? Consult your EV manufacturer’s support team or check your car’s manual for instructions specific to your vehicle’s charging system. Some EVs may have special procedures for unlocking the charging head.
Important Notes:
The connector itself is held in place by a mechanical latch. There is no software or electronic control over this latch.
Some EVs will lock the charging head when the car is locked. Please Make sure that the car is unlocked before attempting to remove the charging head.
Some car manufacturer apps may offer an option to unlock or release the charging connector.
If needed, refer to the vehicle’s manual or search online for instructions specific to your EV model.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, please contact your car manufacturer’s support for further guidance.
Following these steps should help release the stuck charging head. If the problem continues, it may require professional assistance from the vehicle manufacturer.
