How Payouts Work for Sellers on PodRoll: A Comprehensive Guide

At PodRoll, we understand the importance of a straightforward and efficient payout process for sellers. Your podcasts bring immense value to the network, and we're here to ensure you receive your earnings seamlessly. This guide outlines the step-by-step process for setting up your payouts, providing the necessary documentation, and understanding the payout timeline.

Setting Up Your Billing Details

PodRoll utilizes Mercury as it's banking platform for secure handling of bank account information. After your first month of revenue, you will see an email request from Mercury requesting your bank details to set up direct deposit. If you haven't received this email, please reach out to team@podroll.fm


Providing Necessary Documentation

To comply with tax laws and banking regulations, we require all sellers to submit certain documents. Depending on your location, these requirements might vary:

  • For U.S. Residents: Submit a completed W-9 form. This form collects your taxpayer identification number and certification.

  • For Non-U.S. Residents: Depending on your country, you'll need to submit a W-8BEN form (for individuals) or a W-8BEN-E form (for entities). These forms are used to document your status as a non-U.S. person.

Banking Details

In addition to the tax-related documents, you'll need to provide your banking details.

  • Legal Name

  • Physical Address

  • Bank Name

  • Account Number

  • Routing Number (for ACH transfers if you're in the U.S.)

  • SWIFT Code (for international wires)

This information enables us to transfer your earnings directly to your bank account.

Payout Timeline

Understanding when you'll receive your earnings is essential. Here's our payout timeline:

  • Monthly Revenue Calculation: On the 5th day of every month, we add up all the revenue your podcasts have generated to your account balance.

  • Payout Processing: After calculating your monthly earnings, we initiate the payout process. If you're in the U.S., you'll receive your payment through ACH (Automated Clearing House). For sellers outside the U.S., we send payments via international wire transfer.

  • Disbursement: Payments are disbursed from our Mercury bank account through Column NA (Mercury) under Macro Labs, Inc. DBA PodRoll. You can expect to receive your earnings within a week of the monthly revenue calculation.

  • Balance Adjustment: After the payment is complete, your account balance in PodRoll will be adjusted down by the amount of the distribution.

Q: What if I haven't received my payout?
A: If you haven't received your payout within the expected timeframe, please check your billing and banking details for any discrepancies. If everything appears correct, contact us at team@podroll.fm for assistance.

Q: Can I change my banking information?
A: Yes, you can update your banking information by sending a request to submit the new details to team@podroll.fm. Please do this well in advance of the next payout date to ensure smooth processing.

Q: Are there any fees associated with payouts?
A: PodRoll does not charge any fees for processing payouts. However, your bank might charge fees for receiving ACH or wire transfers. Please check with your bank for more information.
