A recurring payment is a payment that happens regularly, whether that’s every day, every week, every month, twice a week, and so on.
This could be in the form of subscription payments, where the payment would continue indefinitely until you cancel the payment, or
payment instalments, where parents pay £50 a month for 10 months to reach a total of £500 before the next term / summer camp starts.
With PonchoPay, we have enabled this for card, Tax-Free Childcare (TFC) and childcare voucher payments:
For card and TFC express payments, scheduled payments will be taken automatically on the specified date. Parents paying with TFC express must ensure that the childcare provider is added to their TFC account during time of setup, otherwise payments will not go through.
For TFC standard and childcare voucher payments, it is the parents' responsibility to make the payment on the scheduled date. PonchoPay will be sending reminders before and after the time of expected payment.
Please note, recurring payments is currently only available for customers who have integrated PonchoPay via API. This feature should be available for WooCommerce customers in early 2026.
